With no sign of the PS6 or the next Xbox, and with the Nintendo Switch 2 on the near horizon, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S sales are "plummeting". However, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick believes that GTA 6 will help bring them back up.

"When you have a big title in the market, and we have many of them coming, historically, that has sold consoles," . "And I think that will happen this year. I don't think tariffs are going to be our friend, but I think there will be a meaningful uptick in console 🌠sales in calendar 25 because of the release schedule, not just coming from us, but coming from others."

Strauss Zelnick Addresses GTA 6 PC Port

Another big question surrounding GTA 6 is when it will release on PC. Many fans are worried about a repeat of GTA 5, which launched on PC a staggering 19 months after the PS3 and Xbox 360 versi𝓀ons. This was likely to ensure that the PC release coincided with the Xbox One and PS4 re-release.

We don't know anything about next-gen yet, but internal Sony documents revealed that the PS6 wouldn't launch un🔜til 2027 at the earliest. If that timeline remains accurate (and again, that's the earliest), then 19 months after Fall 2025 would land around April 2027. It's certainly possible that Rockstar will launch the PC port shortly after the PS6 and new Xbox versions, but this is entirely spec⛄ulative, and the delay might not be nearly as severe, especially with the smaller leaps between generations that we're now seeing.

Whatever the explanation, Zelnick remains coy. 🌳He simply pointed out that, in the past, "Rockstar has started with some platforms and then historically moved to other platforms." That being said, he also stressed the importance of PC in modern gaming. "We have seen PC become a much more important part of what used to be a console business," Zelnick explained. "I wouldn't be surprised to see that trend continue."
