Grand Theft Auto V featured a couple of references to Red Dead Redemption back in its day, though since then, a sequel to the latter game has been released. With it came a strong narrative about an outlaw experiencing a redemption of some kind. It was serious and very impactful. Yet, with Grand Theft Auto 6 apparent𝄹ly on the way, we should see a strong tie between the two franchises.
However, there still has yet to be any confirmation of Grand Theft Auto 6 in development. The game had gotten a soft announcement in a recent interview where a Rockstar employee referenced the game. No official announcement has been made by the company itself. Yet, it is very likely on the way and could use a strong connection to Red Dead Redemption.
Between the two games, Red Dead Redemption features a cast of colorful and well-written characters. Protagonists John Marston and Arthur Morgan are both highly compelling in their own right, with performances that are top-notch. While bold, it would be very interesting to see Grand Theft Auto 6 mention these guys in a big way, or even feature someone related to them. Arthur Morgan allegedly had a son, but what about his son's child? There could be a whole lineage of Marston's or Morgan's that eventually made their way to Vice City or San Andreas or wherever Grand Theft Auto 6 takes places.
Even characters like Dutch could be, at the very least, prominently referenced throughout the story of Grand Theft Auto 6. Perhaps Dutch's "plans" could be referenced through the game's antagonist or Dutch could be heralded as a talented criminal that the characters of Grand Theft Auto 6 could learn from.
Maybe Sadie Adler ended up with a family and descendants that reached down into the plot of Grand Theft Auto 6.
The possibilities for Grand Theft Auto 6 are very extensive, and it will be interesting to see what is done with the game, regardless. However, given the popularity of both series and the connective link that is Rockstar's talent between them, having Grand Theft Auto 6 use elements of the Red Dead series fܫor it story would make ♈for a strong, and unique, tie between the two.
