The only drawback a🌜gainst this plane is that there are only two places where you can land it: back at the airport, or at the desert airfield.

This helicopter appears in Vice City, San Andreas, and GTA Online. It has little armor, but that won't matter when you're able to get from Los Santos to Las Venturas in a couple of minutes thanks to how fast it is. It has a bit of firepower thanks to a front-mounted machine gun and it can also land on water, unlike the regular Sparrow. However, this is a wasted feature in Vice City because Tommy can't swim, so it's best to leave the sea landings to CJ.
8 Rustler
The Rustler is a WW2-style fighter plane that only appears in GTA San Andreas, and it's also the first aircraft you unlock during the game's desert chapter. It's equipped with twin machine guns which are surprisingly powerful (and perfect for a bit of aerial mayhem), and being a fighter plane means that it's also very maneuverable.
The only drawback is♓ the lack🎃 of armor, so maybe think twice if you want to pick a fight with something like a Hunter or a Hydra, just in case.
7 🐎 Cargo Plane
The enormous cargo pla♉ne is the largest aircraft in the entire series, even managing to outsize the AT-400 and theꦜ Andromada from San Andreas.
Its true potential can be realized in GTA Online because the cargo space allows for a lot of fun with friends, being almost big enough to be its own 🍸sandbox wi🌠thin the game. Unfortunately, Los Santos airport is the only place big enough to land this monster, and it'll still be too big for the hangars.
6 Cargobob
The Cargobob debuted in San Andreas, but GTA 5 is where it reached its full potential, tha⭕nks to the addition of the cargo hook. This simple addition turned a simple flying tank into a toy of endless mayhem.
There's a lot of fun to be had with just picking a random vehicle and chucking it into the middle of a road, and the Cargobob can also take a lot of punishment thanks to its heavy armor. Pair it with a friend in a Rhino for maximum carnage.
5 Luxor

It's one of the most expensive vehicles in the game if you want to gain it by legal means, but if you can't afford it, there's always one lying around at Los Santos airport and you should be able to get away before the cops decide to nab you.

It's fairly easy to hijack one from Los Santos airport, and once you do, you've got access to some serious firepower in a very nimble aircraft. Its miniguns can annihilate most vehicles in seconds, and don't worry if your aim is terrible because that's what the homing missiles are for.
3 Mallard

This isn't a plane used to carry out heists or take part in dogfights, it's a plane you spend as much time as possible flying upside down, performing barrel rolls in, and just having a huge load of fun. Its small size also means that it just fits in some of the tunnels if you're feeling particularly daring (or lucky).
2 Hydra
The fearsome Hydra debuted in GTA San Andreas and is one of the best vehicles in that game. Its speed and firepower were unmatched and it had some good armor too, but there was one flaw, and that was due to the old controls which often made it hard t𒁏o fly this twitchy fighter jet.
Rockstar eventually brought the Hydra to GTA Online, and even though griefers use it alongside🤪 the🐷 Oppressor to cause annoyance, it's still an incredibly impressive aircraft to fly around in.
1 Jetpack
Technically this isn't an aircraft, but the jetpack is easily the best method of flying in any GTA game, and it was the standout vehicle from San Andreas.
This fantastic little pack controls pretty well, and you're able to use one-handed weapons which is perfect for causing mayhem. Best of all, if you complete the mission "Black Project" in GTA San Andreas, the jetpack becomes a permanent unlock that spawns at the desert airfield (or you can just use a cheat code to spawn it in whenever you want).
