The face of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:many memes surrounding San Andreas, Smoke stands out from other characters for🅷 being the first friendly face met during CJ's odyssey. There are facts though that most players may not know about him and here are 10 of those facts.

10 His Original Appear🧸ance

Big Smoke (left) reunites with CJ in GTA: San Andreas's beta build

Smokeꦬ's look is pretty iconic and distinct, with his green shirt, bowler hat, and glasses setting him apart from other Grove Street Family gangsters. But this was actually not the way he was origiꦚnally supposed to look.

In beta builds for the game, Smoke's glasses are still there but his bowler hat is gone, revealing his bald head. His shirt is also different, with this build presen🅰ting the character in a white, blue, and red basketball jersey over ꦚa white shirt. The look did not make Smoke really stand out so it was easy to see why Rockstar would do away with it.

9 🗹 His Real Name

Now obviously Big Smoke is just a nickname but references to his real name are as few and far between as 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:news about GTA VI. So what is his real name?

Smoke's true name is actually Melvin Harris. With this being his ac🐟tual name, it is easy to see why he would just go by Big Smoke instead. Melvin Harris lacks the hardcore street appeal that Big Smoke has.

8 His Voice 🧔Actor

Clifton Powell as Pinky has a gun pointed at him in Next Friday

One reason Big Smoke is s🥃uch a stand out character in the series is due to his distinctive raspy voice. This voice belongs to that of actor Clifton Powell.

The actor has been seen in a variety of movies and tv shows in which he primarily plays characters in supporting roles, hence why most might not know his face too well. His standout roles include Jeff Brown in the movie Ray, Leland in the movie Deep Cover, and Rex Fisher 🅘in the tv show Saints & Sinners.

7 He Will Call CJ To Tell Him To Lose Weight If He Is Too Fat 🉐

A fat CJ talks to Big Smoke in GTA:SA

San Andreas introduced RPG aspects to the series, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:for better or worse, by introducing different stats to the game for the player to upgrade CJ. These aspects would be 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:built upon in GTA V. One of♑ thes🐷e stats, "fat," can be increased if CJ eats too much food at once, which makes him slower and say different things.

Smoke will actually call CJ during the game's first act if the player has the fat rating too high. He will tell CJ that he basically needs to lose weight, to which CJ responds in denial saying at least he is not as fat as Smoke. It is a pretty funny exchange that shows how much Smoke cares about CJ in🍌 the beginning.

6 🎉 He Knew The Ballas Would Shoot Up The Johnson House

Three Ballas members discuss doing a drive-by of the Johnson family home in the GTA:SA short film, The Introduction

The mother of CJ, Kendl, and Sweet, Beverly Johnson's death right before the game's beginning leads to the protagonist returning to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Los Santos after being away for five years in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Liberty City. It is mentioned that a green sabre, a vintage muscle 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:car in the game, did a drive-by hit of the Johnson family home intඣending to kill Sweet, who survived due to being out of the house.

When Smoke is revealed to have betrayed Grove Street to help The Ballas and C.R.A.S.H., that same car is shown in the garage. This shows that Smoke knew the attempted hit would happen. Even though he did not pull the tr✅igger himself, Smoke was complicit in Beverly's death as he let it happen.

5 He Can Be Heard On West Coast Talk Radio (WC☂TR)

After the player completes the Pier 69 mission in the San Fierro part of the map, Smoke can be heard getting interviewed on the WCTR station. In the interview, he promotes himself as a philanthropist wanting to help rid the strꦿeets of drugs and to make the place he grew up a better place.

This is ironic since Smoke is actually a drug baron at this point, meaning he is the cause of the issues mentioned. He ha꧅s also forgotten about his roots as he had turned on the Johnsons and Grove Street to st♕rike it out on his own with Ryder.

4 𒀰 The Ballas Do🌼 Not Shoot At Him During The Opening Mission

Ryder, with Big Smoke and CJ, beckons them to keep up

During San Andreas's opening mission, ღCJ, Sweet, Ryder, and Smoke have to escape a Ballas drive-by attack on bicycles after Smoke's car is destroyed. While players try frantically to keep up with everytꦛhing, they might miss something off about the whole affair.

This occurrence is that the Ballas will only shoot at CJ🅺 and Sweet but not at Ryder and Smoke. This foreshadows their betrayal later in the game and can easily be missed.

3 His Bet🌳rayal Is Foreshadowed Throughout The First Act ꧋

On top of the previous entry, there 𒆙are other instances of Smoke's betrayal being foreshadowed throughout the game's first.

Smoke chalks up not shooting at the Ballas in the Drive-By mission to not wanting to let his food go to waste. The play🦂er only realizes he was lying when it is revealed he 🦩is working with them. He is also visited quite regularly by Frank Tenpenny and Eddie Pulaski of C.R.A.S.H., two of the game's antagonists. While Smoke assures CJ that they were just being nosey, players who see this after their first playthrough will notice he is lying again.

2 He Regretted His Actions In The E♈nd 💖

Big Smoke les dead at CJ's feet in GTA: SA

After a climactic showdown, CJ will ask a dying Smoke why he di♎d what he did. Smoke will say he let his pursuit for money and power go to his head, leading him to turn his back on the 🎃only family he had ever truly known. Smike regretted his actions before saying people will forever remember his name before dying.

CJ will reply "what a waste" in response to this. Unlike the game's other villains, Smoke showed remorse, making him more sympathetic than Tenpenny🔥 for instance. It is also a reason why many people might still like Smoke regardless of his actions.

1 His Character Arc Showꦿcases Who൲ CJ Could Have Been

CJ and Smoke shake hands in GTA: SA

Big Smoke ultimately ditched his roots to pursue money and power over the streets of Los Santos. Throughout the game, CJ builds an empire of his own when he 💛starts his own garage in San Fierro and works with triad leader "Woozie" Wu Zi Mu, even robbing a mafia owned casin🐲o with his help.

When he finally reunites with Sweet, CJ is ready to take his older brother with him away from Los Santos, but Sweet reminds his sibling of his roots. This leads to CJ realizing his past mistakes aꦐnd remembering his history as well as the importance of family, lessons Smoke did not learn the true meaning of until it was too late for him. Had CJ not have had Sweet in his life, he easily could have ended up just like Smoke.
