Rockstar has released an update for the maligned GTA Trilogy - Definitive Edition, which has been plagued with issues and bugs since launcꦜhing earlier this month. Reviewers and players have not been shy to express their dissatisfaction with the state of the three remasters, especially considering the price it went on sale for, and the hype that surrounded the remastering of these beloved titles.
Now Rockstar Support, the technical support arm of the giant developer, has announced Update 1.03 for Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition. The update is availabl𒅌e for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC versions of the remasters.
Th𒐪e update notes are lengthy - although time will tell if the update is extens🃏ive enough. General updates include:
- Stability improvements
- Added the cinematic camera, which can be toggled by cycling through the camera modes when in game
- Fixed a number of misspellings on texture art/signage
- Fixed a number of instances where rain would appear indoors during cutscenes
But more specific updates for each title - GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas - are an abundance of fixes. There could be at least a hundred instances of the word 'fixed' in these patch notes, showing that Rockstar are doing the work to address all the issues players have had with the remasters (which never should have been this bad, of course). The issues inꦍcluded awful rain effects, cars doing weird things, glitches that meant surfaces would suddenly drop out, misspelled signs🌳, and strange looking textures. The list went on.
Notable updates include fixing the issue of seeing rain inside buildings, fixing missing object collision on wall𝓀s, fixing a hole in the game world near Café Robina in Vice City, fixing the flamethrower that was damaging items behind Tommy, and numerous bugs. It is an extensive list. One highlight is the fact that cloud cover is now introduced at high altitude in S🅘an Andreas.
