Grid Legends startsღ you off in the middle of its story mode racing drama, one which you can follow through gradually released seasons of missions taking place in a reality television racing series style. While this story is unlocked in a dramatic, documentary event fashion, there is also a m𓃲ore traditional career mode, and several online racing modes for you to race in.

Earning Credits And Racecraft Points

In Grid Legends you earn credits for racing well, according to your position in the race, meaning that the higher your position, the more credits you earn. Your costs during a race are then deducted, which will include repairing the level of damage taken by racers on your⭕ team.

You earn racecraft points to rank up your driver level and unlock more of the game. These points are accumulated by performing skillful or bold actions in a race. These include drifting, collisions 💙with other cars, overtak♐ing, following the racing line, having the fastest lap section, and many more.

Actions of the same type can build into combos if they follow each other. For instance, you can earn moౠre of a reward 💞for following a racing line for longer.

You also earn discipline related to the class of car or type of race you participate in. Check the progression tab to know how much discipline you have earned for each type of event in the game and what level you are on.

The Right Setup

Settings 🎃that make the game enjoyable are key. There is a detailed menu for adjusting how difficult you want the racing experience to be, wiꦓth presets from easy to legend, and many options that can be changed individually to create your own custom difficulty class.

The difference between easy and medium is the difficulty of the AI, while any preset ranked harder than that also affects how much assistance the game gives you — how automatic the driving is, for example. Damage from collisions is only cosmetic on lower difficulty levels, which is useful if you're getting to grips with the handling and want to stay in a race but crash a lot. You can also rule out terminal damage, meaning that damage can cause issues with driving, but you can't be ruled out of a race for taking too much.

This is all alongside other visual and controller comfort options. For example, there are several shake effect intensity settings that affect the game feedback.

If you find you're losing or winning too easily for it to be fun, tweaking all the options above will improve your experience.

Racing Strategy

GRID Legends nemesis race

You make progress through both story and career in Legends by succeeding at event objectives — mostly meaning that you need to rank high enough in a race to move on. If you're stuck struggling to rank highly in a race in your first hours, at least aim for the pretty attainable early goals and continue to the next mission. The game doesn't expect that level of commitment until later races.

In terms of competitors, AI drivers are likely to make big mistakes, especially if their difficulty level is lowered, so be on the lookout for crashes or drivers out of control on the road as you try to get ahead.

On the other hand, if you get into a collision, a driver may become your nemesis. This means they will have an extra goal of beating 𓂃you and driving more aggressively against you. With certain upgrades, you can have a team member target put pressure on the nemesis while driving to take the pressure off of you.

In elimination mode, there is often more than one elimination when the timer runs down. If you're in orange, you are one step away from elimination, and in the red, you will be eliminated.

Effective Flashbacks

You can use flashbacks during a race to rewind it and readjust your actions, which is useful if you mishandle. The number of flashbacks available is indicated in the bottom left while racing.

For a flashback to be effective, make sure you rewind far enough to get to the source of the mistake. Even though you might have failed at a corner, it might have been the driving line that you took from the last corner which put you in that position. It's better to readjust further back than retry a difficult approach.

Extra flashbacks can be earned i🅷n specific vehicles by upgrading them at the garage.

Managing The Team

While in story mode you have a set team with Seneca, elsewhere you build your own team. Your mechanic canꦡ provide improvements to car performance, and your race teammate will join you in a different car during the races.

At first, you can only adjust specific things in the team details menu. Here is where you can adjust your driver name, sponsor's team logo, and banner.

At level five as a racer, you'll unlock the ability to upgrade team members. The 🦩upgrades only unlock at this level, and then can be bought with 750 credits each. The next upgrade tiers are unlocked when you reach racer levels 15 and 35. T🌼here is a range of applications, with three styles of upgrades for both your teammate and your mechanic.

For instance, you can unlock commands to give your teammate instructions on how to drive, which will be followed to the best of the driver's abilities. The ability to follow them can be improved too, with a loyalty upgrade. These allow you to hopefully work in sync rather than simply competing.

A Quick Race

GRID Legends race creator mode

Quick race is a mode that can be access🧜ed online. It allows you to join a race happening anywhere, according to how public your online connection is.

Unlike classic quick race modes, Grid Legends relies on online play. If you want to have your own single-player, noncareer mode quick race, you will have to create your own race event. That's what the race creator menu is here for. It lets you devise races to host online or race single-player. There are four slots to create and save the races, and selecting one allows you to customize the race's event type, rules, permitted classes of car, location, and more.

Activating ramps in the race rules out most locations as it relies on the track toꦆ have that speci💞alized feature. Choosing this option will auto-switch to a track with ramps.

Unlocking Upgrade-Based Events

To unlock certain events in your career, yoꦺu need to have unlocked specific car upgrade tiers. To begin upgrading the car associated with a locked event, go to that car in the garage and select the upgrade view.

Upgrades will be made available after driving a certain number of miles in the car you want to alter. Then, you'll use your credits to purchase them.
