Following an entir🤪e season of visa issues, the Guangzhou Charge announced Qi "Wya" Haomiao is officially a two-way player and joins the Charge's academy team, Ignition One. Following that news, the Charge announced they have also signed former Hangzhou Spark player Cai "Krystal" Shilong on a two-way contract with Ignition One as well.
The Guangzhou Charge are one of the best teams in the entire league. They took down the Shanghai Dragons and were crowned champions of the Summer Showdown. Despite all their success, the roster has been plagued with visa issues due to the ongoing global pandemic and Wya has s꧟uffered all season. Placing Wya on a two-way contract with their academy team aꦰllows him to continue to grow as a player without being stagnant on the bench. The Charge stated Wya will be training and playing with Ignition One until his visa issues are solved.
Meanwhile, the Charge also made a controversial move by adding Cai "Krystal" Shilong. Although he is also a two-way player who won't see any playtime in OWL this season, Krystal is notorious for being suspended by the Hangzhou Spark last season after he reportedly continued to put his personal life and relationship over the team and making excuses along the way. Krystal is a talented player but his addition on the Charge is an interesting one considering📖 the position they are in heading into the final stretch of the seaso🔯n.
These roster shifts won't have an impact൲ on the rest of the Charge's season but it's interesting to see how it plays out heading into 2021. If it all pans out for everyone involved, Guangzhou made some good decisions in allowing Wya to continue to grow on their a♏cademy team and giving Krystal an opportunity to change his narrative.
