The Mechanist Menace

This swaps the Engineers tool belt out for a Jade Mech - which can be a surprisingly pow🐭erful ally in PvP.
While it does suffer from the usual pet problems (it sometimes has a mind of its own), on the whole, it's a force multiplier for the Mechanist.
The Mechanist gets access to the Mace, Signet utility skills, and the already mentioned Jade Mech. It's a much easier specialization to play than any of the others that the Engineer has access to - thanks to its many sources of sustain and liberal application of conditions which turn this profession into a powerful duelist.

Stats And Equipment
For stats, you'll want to be using Sage. Sage is an ideal blend of stats to both take damage and keep you going in sustained combat.
