This enormous bedf🍒rame of death that serves only to protect its sist𓄧er, Delilah, has plenty of options to work with, making them a formidable opponent that can apply tons of pressu﷽re and deal significant damage. Never underestimate a sentient bedframe, especially one equipped with deadly contraptions.

Error Follow-Ups

One of the more unique aspects of Bedman? in Guilty Gear Strive is its error follow-ups, which happen automatically after you perform certain Special Attacks.

For example, performing Bedman?'s fireball action, call 4BA (236P), will have it launch a spike forward that travels the length of the scree🥀n. Pretty standard for a projectile, right?

However, in Bedman?'s case, a second projectile will follow shortly after and have different properties. This action is known as error 6E, a lightning bolt with tracking capabilities, opening the door for extending c𒐪ombos, applying pressure, and much more.

More Follow-Ups!

But wait, there's more! Much more! In addition to Bedman?'s projectile, they also have access to call 4B3 and call 4B9, which are two other Special Attacks with similar follow-up attacks.

Unlike the projectile, the action following these Special Attacks up consists of Bedman?'s head popping off its body before exploding after traveling a very short distance. ♕When used correctly, this will enable you to set up devastating combos and apply tons of pressure on your opponent.

Even More Follow-Ups!

If you thought that was it for Bedman?'s whacky follow-up tech, think again, as there are two more crucial aspects to this that will help elevate Bedman? to new heights when appropriately used during combo rou🍌tes, block strings, or to simply keep pressure on your opponent.

Due to the names of these moves being rather absurd, we will call them by their notations, which will be much easier to follow and comprehend, as 214P is much more eligible than whatever call 0x$0.20 is (that's the move's actual name by the way).

Anyways, Bedman?'s 214P and 214K serve an important role in managing your error follow-up actions. 214P will have your error follow-up action activate immediately, and 214K will reset the timer on the follow-up action.

Not only can you instantly perform your follow-up actions to keep an attack going or to take your turn back, but you can also delay it to throw your opponent off, apply pressure, or create enough space to have it land after another at🧜tack, enabling you to chain attacks together to otherwise was not possible.

Ultimately, this is Bedman?'s primary gimmick and will make or break the character depending on how you use it. Being able to delay or instantly activate your error follow-ups open the door to many options that can keep your opposition on their toes, so use it wisely!

Understanding The Call 13C Overdrive

Speaking of the error follow-up actions, Bedman?'s call 13C Overdrive will give even more properties to them, giving you access to massive damage and high-pressure opportunities.

call 13C acts is Bedman?'s Install Super, meaning this Overdrive will apply a temporary buff to Bedman? instead of performing an actual attack. However, this does not mean this action is useless or less useful compared to its other Overdrive. In fact, it's quite the opposite.

call 13C Effects

  • Damage is increased by Ten Percent across all actions.
  • Defense is increased by Ten Percent.
  • All error 6E follow-ups have additional properties.
  • Buff lasts for five seconds but disables Tension accumulation when activated.

While there are some minor drawbacks, as you can tell, the vast majority of effects received by activating call 13C are overwhelmingly positive. The increased Damage and Defense are immensely strong, and that's not even covering the changes to your follow-up actions.

Projectile

236P

Imbues a spike with lightning magic and sends it at your opponent with tremendous speed, launching them high into the air on contact. It will Crush your opponent's Guard if blocked and cause a Hard Knockdown via Area Shift.

Explosion

236S, 236HS

Supercharges Bedman's head before dismounting, enabling it to travel the entire screen length before exploding. The explosion is much bigger and more damaging, allowing it to cause an Area Shift if hit near the corner. An Area Shift will also cause a Hard Knockdown on your opponent.

Unique Movement Options

In addition to Bedman?'s odd attacks and error system, it also has access to unique movement options, giving them a significant edge in battle.

Despite Bedman? not having access to a Double-Jump, it still maintains excellent movement options with decent mobility. This is achieved via Bedman?'s unique eight-way Dash, allowing it to quickly dash in any of the four cardinal directions or intercardinal directions after jumping.

Dashing Like A Pro

With the ability to Dash in any direction it pleases after jumping, Bedman? becomes extremely dangerous in the air, as it can Dash via Down Forward to land nasty ove♔rheads, set up Oki pressure, and muc♌h more.

Furthermore, Bedman?'s ability to Dash in any direction allows it to utilize its error follow-up attacks to their fullest, giving you many ways to bait your opponent into unsafe situations before quickly Dashing 𒉰in an une🥃xpected direction before it activates.

Being able to Dash seemingly anywhere also opens the door for many combo routes, which will help you catch an opponent you 🥃may have launched or caught mid-air with your projectile.

Overall, this will give you so much potential, especially since Bedman?'s base movement is relatively slow and limited by default. Bedman? is a heavy character, but has more movement than most characters in this category, so be sure to make the most of it!

Pressure King With Gimmicks

Bedman? hitting Chipp Zanuff with a devastating slash with its arm, sending him flying backward in Guilty Gear Strive.

When all is said and done, Bedman? might be a tad too gimmicky for some players, but it's undeniable it can apply unrelenting amounts of pressure on their opposition.

Whether the pressure comes from its excellent eight-way Dash, error follow-ups, or several multi-hitting Normal and Special Attacks, Bedman? can keep it🤡s opponent on their toes and with t🎃heir back against the wall.

Overly gimmicky characters tend to have massive downsides and Bedman? suffers from all the same types of issues the likes of Nagoriyuki, Potemkin, and Goldlewis Dickinson does.

This means that Bedman? will struggle against Happy Chaos, Axl Low, and even Giovanna due to its sheer size and slower movement speed. Does this mak🎶e those match-ups impossi🥀ble? Not in the slightest, but you will need to put in more effort to overcome them.

Conclusion

It is still far too early to tell if Bedman? is top-tier, mediocre, or absolutely terrible. Still, our early impressions of them are that they are terrifying when it comes to applying pressure and giving your𝓀 opponent almost no time to think or breathe.

Now, this could be that no one knows how to play against the towering bedframe of death yet, but we feel confident that Bedman? possesses excellent tools - as outlined above - to unleash suffocating amounts of pressure and damage.

Bedman? will struggle against many opponents, as that is the code of the "Bigman" archetype in fighting games, but they have many options at their disposal that can help overcome the typical ailments that plague these types of characters.

Nonetheless, understanding Bedman?'s error follow-up gimmicks and using them to their full potential will ultimately be the best way to get the most out of the character and shine in combat.
