Searching For Combos

Search Filters in Guilty Gear Strive's Combo Maker

When searching for a combo in the Combo Maker, there are a plethora of filters, settings, and options for you to tinker around with to help you find precisely what you're looking for. One example is by simply tabbing over to the Search Menu, you are instantly presented with a wide range of filters that can help you pinpoint combos for your specific needs with little to no effort.

Here, you can search for combos for your favorite characters and even pick a particular opponent if you find it harder to juggle the heavier or lighter fighters in the game. Additionally, you can also filter tags which will allow you to find combos focused on corner, neutral, or aerial play (and much 💫more). Furthermore, if you find a creator that you like, you can follow them to stay up to date when they find a clever new route𝓀 down the road.

You will also be able to reorganize the list of combos by sorting through a variety of presets such as clear rating, most likes, most downloads, etc. The more challenging combos will naturally have a lower clear rate, while the more common and probable ones will be much higher. Another essential addition to this system is you can also display the Combo Recipe for each entry to see what you're getting yourself into before diving in.

Trying Out Combos

Once you find a submitted combo you want to try, you can either download it, bookmark it, or dive straight into it and try it out instantly. You can either try to complete a combo successfully three out of five ꩲtimes to complete a challenge or practice it at your own pace. This pretty much covers everything on the searching portion of the Combo Maker mode, but there is much more to be offered when it comes to Setplays anꦍd even creating your own!

Creating Combos/Setplays

Creating a Combo in the Combo Maker in Guilty Gear Strive

Creating combos, and sharing them, works similarly to what was present in the game prior to this patch with the Combo Recipe feature found in the Training Mode. However, in this case, after you nail a com💖bo you are proud of, you can then share with thousands of players across the world and have them take a crack at it themselves.

To create a combo, head to Main Menu > Offline > Combo > Create, then select the characters you wish to use. From there, open the menu and select the "Record" option to begin recording your combo route. Once you have a combo ready to submit, end the recording a๊nd share it via the pop-up menu. You can name your combo and even add a description to it, allowing players to search to find it easier if it fits their particular needs.

Setplay Creation

To create a Setplay, you will follow the same steps as laid out above but have the opponent perform various tasks to simulate specific situations or setups. This is a much more advanced method for the Combo Maker suite but follows the same principles as its Training Mode counterpart. You can have the opposition block, perform attacks, jump, etc., and base your combo on reactionary and scenario-based events. For more on Setplays, please r♒efer to the section b💙elow!

Alternatively, you can set up character-specific counters and turn them into Setplays. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Things such as responding to May's dolphins, escaping Ramlethal's suffocating corner pressure, what you should do when the opponent whiffs, etc., are e🔴xamples of what Setplays bring toﷺ the table and what you can create.

Setplays

Setplays in Guilty Gear Strive's Combo Maker

As touched on briefly above, Setplays are a more advanced take on the already deep Combo Maker suite, allowing you to practice simulated scenarios to help you improve your play exponentially. Setplays cover a wide range of scenarios such as neutral, corner pressure, mix-ups, and much more.

Finding Setplays will follow the same methods as mentioned above. Still, they may require much more fine-tuning on your end, especially if you're looking to punish specific attacks from characters who always seem to get the best of you. For example, if you play as Ky and always seem to get annihilated by May and her dolphins from hell, you can try searching for Setplays where Ky is th🍸e player character, and May is the opponent.

Ever have your opponent trapped in the corner and just... not capitalize on it? Or land a counterattack and not follow up on it afterward because you don't quite know how to? Setplays will provide you with more than enough resources to help you strengthen the areas of your play you happen to struggle with, which is♏ an excellent and clever system implemented in Guilty Gea🌌r Strive.

While every situation under the sun may not be in the Combo Maker, it's safe to assume the most common and annoying ones will be. Reacting to May's dolphin spam, fighting back against Ramlethal's corner trap, or catching a twirling Anji Mito off-guard are all examples of instances you will indeed find when seeking them.
