Gundam is probably the most recognizable mech franchise in history, and after more than four decades of various anime series, movies, manga, novels, audio dramas, video games, and more, it's not hard to see why. While there is a much smaller amount of Gundam media released internationally compared to that released in Japan, there has still been a handful here and there, with more Gundam media releasing internationally now than ever before.

But because so much media was only ever officially released in Japan, international fans have missed out on a lot of video games based on the franchise. In this list, we'll look at 10 Gundam games that never launched outside of Japan.

10 🧔Mobile Suit G😼undam Part 1: Gundam Stands On The Ground!!

The first Gundam game for home compu꧟ters, Mobile Suit Gundam Part 1, was released for FM-7, PC-88, PC 98, and Sharp X1 home computers in 1984, and is a text adventure game that follows the same plot as the first three episodes of the original anime seriꦆes.

In addition to cutscenes and text-based gameplay, Gundam Stands On The Ground!! also had shooter sections. The second part of the series, Mobile Suit Gundam Part 2: Fly! Gundam was released later in the same year and covers episodes four through 12. This makes it perhaps the most dated Gundam video game, but it's still interesting to see how everything started.

9 ꦏ Mobile Fighter G Gundam

Mobile Fighter G Gundam is a 2D fighting game released for the Super Famicom in 1994 and is based on the anime series of the same name; the first game to be solely based on it. While Mobile Fighter G Gundam is more unconventional compared to o🌄ther Gundam series, Gundams and pilots from the series also later appeared in other Gundam fighting games 🅰such as Gundam Battle Assault 2 and Gundam Versus.
