Hades 2 is a surprisingly resource-heavy game when compared to its predecessor. You'll 🔥need to be♌ on the lookout for various things on your journeys to the underworld (or the surface!) that you'll use back at the Crossroads to make Melinoe stronger.

Hades 2 Has A Hub World That I Never Wanไt 🎃To Leave
The Crossroads is already a place I can't wait to return to ag🌳ain and again.
While some of these resources are simply plants that you can pluck from the earth with little effort, other resources will require specific tools to obtain. Naturally, this means collecting resources to be able to unlock them in the first place. Each tool has its recipe, and it's qui⛄te easy to grab them all quite early in the game.
Hades 2 is currently in Early Access. The details below may change over development.
Updated May 11, 2024: We've updated this guide with details on tool upgrades.
All Tool Recipes
There are four tools to obtain in Hades 2, and all of them are used to obtain different r🐻esources:
- The Crescent Pick allows Melinoe to obtain minerals from nodes found in each region. Each region provides a different mineral. Equipping this will make more mining nodes appear.
- The Tablet of Peace allows Melinoe to engage in a quick minigame with large Shades that will reward you with Psyche. Equipping this will make more Shades appear.
- The Silver Spade can be used to dig up seeds that can be planted at the Soil Plots near Odysseus's station (once those plots are unlocked via Incantations). Equipping this will make more digging patches appear.
- The Rod of Fishing allows Melinoe to fish at certain points during a run. Equipping this will make more fishing spots appear.
To equip a tool, you'll need to head over to its location in the Training Grounds. You can only equip one at a time, and if you currently have a Forget-Me-Not that requires a resource that♛ can be obtained with one of your tools, a helpful symbol will accompany it.
Melinoe can use any tool as long🍌 as they are unlocked. Equipping one, however, will make it usable more t🌠imes during a run.
