168澳洲幸运5开奖网:I bought a Steam Deck OLED. It was an impulsive decision, made on a Sunday evening as I wrapped up an extensive session of Hades 2. I didn✃’t want to stop෴ playing, but in my heart I knew that going to bed at a reasonable time to wake up for work the next morning was the responsible thing to do. In other words, being an adult sucks.
But what if I could take my PC to bed with me in portable form, with a nicer screen and better battery life, offering something to do instead of scrolling through TikTok? You could say I’d be fiscally better off waiting for the inevitable Switch port, but like the meme of Peter Griffin smashing up his living room like a petulant child, I want it now.
Death To Chronos, And My Bank Account
It isn’t just because of Hades 2, although Supergiant’s spectacular sequel was a major factor in me pulling the trigger. Much like the first game, it is perfect for portable play, one of the big reasons why it launched on Nintendo Switch months before any other console after leaving early access. Supergiant and Nintendo saw the appeal and went for it, and now the sequel is out in the wild, it is🥂 Steam Deck verified out of the gates. And I really don’t want to wait for a console port to play it away from my desk, nor do I fancy finding my Steam Li꧂nk.
Because my brain is the worst, I’m now watching far too many video reviews and comparisons for th🎀e Steam D✃eck OLED ahead of mine arriving, and it looks real pretty.
So I bought another Steam Deck, despite selling my first one and swearing that I’d never be swayed by the allure of a nicer screen. I lasted roughly 16 months before caving. That’s not bad at all if I do say so myself, and I’ve earned a little gamer treat, so by the end of the week I will be playing a Steam Deck OLED in the comfort of my bed. But this time, I’ll be doing things differently, because I have no doubt the improved screen and otꩲher improvements will alter my relationship with the handheld everyone else has fallen in love with.
It’s Time To Give The Steam Deck A Second Chance
is a great example of how Valve drastically undersold everything the Steam Deck OLED is capable of. It isn’t just a nicer screen and stronger battery life, it makes subtle improvements to the design, weight, buttons, performance, optimisation, and so much more, to the point that it’s more equivalent to a mid-gen refresh than a mere cosmetic upgrade. Valve has said a successor will rear its head eventually, but only once sufficient improvements across the handheld computing space can justify such a product. It also launched for the same price while older mo𒊎dels were dropped in priceꦛ, which is almost unheard of in this space.
I’ll admit that I didn’t give myself enough time to actually appreciate the Steam Deck❀ during my first spot of ownership. The screen proved underwhelming, and I wasn’t patient enough to get emulation working properly or delve into my existing library of games. I wanted instant gratification but too many things were holding it back, and trying to deal with lacking facets of my life by stuffing extravagant technological purchases into the void didn’t help out either.
With my colleague Tessa Kaur also picking one up because of Hades 2, I have someone to explore this new frontier with as we tentatively step into the good graces of PC gaming and give this critically acclaimed handheld a🙈 chance. It didn’t click with me last time, but I love a second chance at anything, so why should this be any different? The fact that Hades 2 feels tailor-made for this sort of device is merely icing on the cake, and an easy excuse for me to make when I next look at my bank account.
