Jokes Aside, This Counter-Strike 2 Update Is Really Good For Trading

The blog post title is a pretty fun hook that has certainly gotten peo🌳ple who typically aren't as invested in Counter-Strike talking about the new season. But the actual meat of this update is worth highlighting, too.

Valve has introduced a new feature that allows you to reverse all item trades from the last seven days, "in the unlikely event that you lose control of your account or were the target of a scam by a bad actor."♔ So, if you get conned out of a pearly £200 knife, you can pry it from their digital hands back into your inventory.

In the unlikely event that you lose control of🥃 your account due to malware or phishing, you will have a 7-day period in which you can reverse trades containing items from Trade Protected games.

In that week-long grace period, items are flagged as "Trade Protected" and thus can't be consumed, modified, or transferred again. And once you've returned your items, you'll be prohibited from trading and using the Community Market for 30 days. This feature is only live for Counter-Strikꦐe 2 right now, but Valve does plan to make it available for other Steam games in the future.
