After ten excruciating years of patiently waiting, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Half-Life fans were finally blessed with another entry into the series via 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Half-Life: Alyx, which caused Valve's Index to sell out, proving that V🌌R isn't just a fad.

Given that the ending teased a sequel, with much less of a wait than between Episode 2 and Alyx, so here are five things that we want to see in a prospective Half-Life 3, as well as fiv♔e th🧜ings we want Valve to leave out—beware spoilers!

10 W💯ant: VR Exclusivity

Half-Life: Alyx brought the series to virtual reality, as one of the first fully-fledged, built for VR, triple-A title. Despite it being a sixty-dollar singleplayer game, it had double the concurrent player base of VR Chat on launch, a free-to-play multiplayer experience.

Going back to mouse-and-keyboard, or controller, with a monitor or television, would simply be a regression for the series. Would it have made sense if, after Half-Life 2, Valve returned to GoldSrc? The franchise has always been about pushing gaming's boundaries, and Alyx has sold plenty of people on the tech, so, now they need a reason to keep their pricey headsets, and more Half-Life is the way to go.

9 🐭 Don't Want: Lack Of Melee

It's understandable as to why we weren't able to swing a crowbar like Gordon or a wrench like Adrian, as the team struggled to make it work as smoothly as everything else, but what that meant was that, in scenarios in which ammo was depleted, combat became grueling, ෴as there weren't really any al🦋ternative options to gunfire.

However, Half-Life: Alyx ends with you quite literally in Gordon's shoes—or should we say gloves—taking a crowbar from Eli, and would it really be a Freeman-helmed entry into the series without his trusty crowbar? No, so Valve needs to remedy the lack of melee in Alyx for their next outing, and they've plenty of time to🧔 work out the kinks now that they have the foundations for their 🌊VR FPS laid out.

8 Want: Russel ✨

Alyx, unfortunately, didn't feature many returning faces, with no physical appearances from Kleiner, Barney, Magnusson, or other allies that sold us on the more story-driven Half-Life 2, but they did introduce a new character: Russel.

He was charming, always in your ear providing you with info and conversation, and made the journey a little less lonely. From his wit to his an🍸xious attempts at comfort to his plans of dominating the capitalist world post-Combine to downloading the entire internet, he was a great addition, and there needs to be more of him, even if we're jumping half a decade ahead in time into someone else's perspective.

7 Don't Want: Controllaꦫble Vehicles

There was a lack of drivable vehicles in Half-Life: Alyx, whilst previous games in the series sported their own variety, with Half-Life's extremely limited industrial train, Half-Life 2's jeep and boat and Episode 2's jalopy. However, in a VR setting, it might be a little bit jarri♛ng.

Valve explained that they absconded vehicle sections because of how tight-knit they wanted to make Half-Life: Alyx's world, with an emphasis on packing the levels to the brim with detail, which they couldn't do with big open areas that you'd drive around in. Half-Life 3 might feature vehicles that you hitch a ride in, like the helicopter in Epistle 3, or even the Borealis, bಞut they shouldn't be sit-down handle-them-yourself types.

6 ♍ Want: Gravity Gloves

Picking up objects in your surroundings might be fine if you have a big open playpen for your VR setup, but, if you're in a compact, tight space, then it's difficult. Luckily, the gravity gloves were the perfect solution, as it made nabbing p🥂rops and treasure much less of a chor⛄e.

It would seem that Alyx recycled these into her design of Dog and stopped using them herself by the time of Half-Life 2, but perhaps Valv🦩e can find a neat little excuse to give them to Gordon, maybe by means of a much-needed HEV suit repair job from our pal Russel with some little upgrades thrown in.

5 Don't Want:⛎ A꧃rmored Headcrabs

Alyx didn't have fast headc🌳rabs, but it had iꦫts own new variant with the armored which could only be taken out by shooting them in their squishy coupling underbelly. This was their weak point, as they had a protective shell.

We don't see these five in-game years later in Half-Life 2, and perhaps that's for the best, as, while they might sound decent in concept, t💖hey hinder pacing somewhat and don't do much for tension—at least, not to the extent of Jeff.

4 𝔍 ▨ Want: Weapon Upgrades

Previous Half-Life games adopted the classic FPS model of a beefy arsenal of diverse weapons that you somehow carried on your person at all times even thoꦍugh you would be hauling a gigantic RPG, a hefty gravity gun that Alyx struggled to pick up, and standard human weaponry galore.

Alyx instead gave you a submachine gun, a shotgun, and a pistol. That means that you have far fewer options, but, through the collecti♋on of resin, you can purchase attachments and kit your gear out further. This was a welcome change that kept things fresh despite the limited toolse꧑t at your disposal.

3 Don't Want: Ladder Telep👍ortation Always Enabled

You can choose how you move in Alyx, which is a nice accessibility option, whether you're more accustomed to teleportation or smooth locomotion, but ladders, in true V✨alve fashion, remain utterly janky.

You could climb them with your hands like in Boneworks, but, when you reached the top, you'd awkwardly be shoved up and scuffed about, or you could grab onto them, yank up, and skip it altogether. However, there's no option for either or, meaning that ladders can get a little bit messy. Seeing this as a setting would be a nice chang and could even be something added in an update to Alyx, nevermind the sequel.

2 ꦅ ⛎ Want: Barney Calhoun

Barney Calhoun debuted in Borderlands developer Gearbox's expansion pack, Blue Shift, and last appeared in Half-Life 2: Episode 1, meaning that we haven't seen this griꦓzzly ex-Black-Mesa guard turned double-agent in over a decade.

He didn't return in Half-Life: Alyx, although some fans sp🎉eculate that a room you find later on in the game might be home to this undercover rebel. Given that the voice actor has hung around to lend his talent to bringing G-Man to life, it'd be a welcome sight to see Barney back again.

1 ཧ Don't Want: Lack Of Two-Handed Weapons

A lack 🎃of a gi🅷gantic arsenal is completely fine, especially given that the weapons you do have at your disposal can be upgraded and customized, but every gun being one-handed gets a bit old.

Having two-handed gear that limits what you can do—given ꧂that you'd lose access to your other hand—could add a decent trade-off in that you deal more damage but become unable to lob grenades, heal mid-fight, or whatever else.

It'd add a bit more depth to combat; do you keep a syringe ready to pop in case things go awry, or do you take the risk and go nuts with a grenade launcherꦅ? Your call, Gordon. You're a Freeman now.
