Halo: The Master Chief Collection is going into its eighth season, and bringing with it some alternate universe armour sets that really mix things up. They're also causing lots of memes on the Halo subreddit.
, the Halo subreddit is currently in a state of mocking and turmoil against the new armour sets in Halo 3. , the armour sets are supposed to be "reimagining the core Mjolnir armour as alternate universe amalgams based on legendary ancient warriors", but, as it stands right now, you'd be hard-pressed to find many Halo players who actually like the new armour sets.
Players are getting to see these skins for the first time, and are doing what you'd probably expect and complaining about them. Jumping over to the Halo subreddit shows a ton of memes surrounding the new sets, whilst others are joking about the .
Of course, beyond the memes there are people who are actually angry about the new armour sets. , "Wow these new World of Warcraft armors look so much worse in-game than I could ever imagine. How did you put in something that somehow looks more horri♚fica✱lly noisy than literal halo 4 armor?"
Other players are a little kinder to the armour, saying that they appreciate the detail put into them and the attempts at bringing history over to Halo, but it's a pretty overwhelmingly negative show so far.
At the very least, 343 Industries seems like it was prepared for some of the backlash, saying, "We know it’s wild. We know it’s out there". It also seems like they might just be the beginning of🔯 wild armour sets, "ꩵThe upcoming season for the MCC does just that, and also helps set the stage for more fun experimental themes to come in the future in this and other venues".
