The Halo series has featured many iconic weapons, the A꧙ssault Rifle being just one such example. While the gun is something you can rely on both durin✃g multiplayer and throughout the campaign, it’s never been a weapon that fans have praised as extremely powerful or helpful.
For most Halo titles, the Assault Rifle merely serves the purpose of being a starting weapon that is then swapped out the minute another gun spawns or is available. However, with each new Halo game release, a new version of the classic Assault Rifle is created. Halo 2 is the exception, o꧃f course, as the gun was not featured (in favour of the SMG) in that instalment. These adjustments to the weapon from🅰 game to game beg a comparison between each version.
5 ꧑ Haloও 3 and Halo 3 ODST: The MA5C Assault Rifle
Halo 3 is a series highlight for many fans. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:It featured a fantastic campaign and advanced the combat and visuals of the series to new heights. However, one of the game’s biggest downfalls is the Assault Rifle. Given the absence of the gun in the previous entry, developer Bungie’s reintroduction of i🅷t c🍬ould have been a lot better. The MA5C Assault Rifle lacks power and range. This version also features some of the worst recoil the weapon has suffered to date.
While some Halo titles see you retain the Assault Rifle and use it effectively, Halo 3’s version is one you can swap out for basically any other weapon. Firing it in shorter bursts does make it slightly more effective and accurate, but its inability to take down shields is a big shortcoming. In particular, the gun is very ineffective for those who dare to venture through the game's campaign on the Heroic or Legendary difficulty. You’re much better off dual-wielding SMGs or just picking enemies off with the Battle Rifle.
4 Haಌlo Reach: The MA37 Assault Rifle 🙈
Another great Halo title that features a subpar Assault Rifle, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Halo Reach’s MA37 Assault Rifle is another version that can be easily swapped out for many other guns. While the actual design and look of Reach’s Assault Rifle is very 🍌different to its predecessors, the game yet again is unable to capitalize on the potential of the weapon. With the Battle Rifle not featured in Reach, this game was the perfect opportunity to allow the Assault Rifle the chance to shine. However, the focus on the newly-introduced DMR squashes these chances very quickly and effectively.
Like Halo 3’s version, you only rely on the assault rifle if you have no other guns at your disposal. During the multiplayer, the gun is slow to take down shields and does minimal damage. this lack of ability to reduce shield strength carries over to the campaign, coinciding with the reintroduction of Elites as enemies. While it can be useful in the game’s campaign on the lower difficulties, it quickly loses any power if you choose to take it up a notch against tougher opponents. Despite the overhaul in looks, the performance of the Assault Rifle here lea♈ves much to be desired and makes the gun one of the most disappointing in the series.
3 Halo 4 And Halo 5: The MA5D Assaul🔜t Ri𒐪fle
When developer 343 Industries took over the Halo series from Bungie, fans were curious and apprehensive to see which direction the series would get taken in. While Halo 4 and Halo 5 may not be contentio🙈us entries in the series, one thing they both began to do right was bring some power and purpose back to the Assault Rifle. Both ga🔴mes feature the MA5D Assault rifle, a new and improved design and version.
Unlike The MA5C and MA37 iterations of the gun, the MA5D packs a punch against enemies. It is useful for close-quarters combat, but also has the range to be used for medium-range shooting. The audio design for the weapon was also overhauled here, with bullets fired and reloaꦕd audio features adding depth to the gun. While it previously sounded a bit ineffectual, the MA5C sounds like a more potent weapon when against its targets. A massive step up that manages to reclaim some of the charms the weapon held in the original Halo: Combat Evolved.
2 ꦍ Combat ♚Evolved: The MA5B Assault Rifle
An oldie but a goodie, much like Halo🎶: Combat Evolved itself.. While the original’s roster of weapons may not have been big, the MA5B model of this gun packed a punch and is still one of the best versions of the weapon to date. In a game where the pistol essentially doubles as a sniper rifle anyways, you don’t need to rely on the Assault Rifle's range. Therefore, while the range is very limited for this version, its firepower and ability to take down an Elite’s shield made up for these shortcomings.
It is also great for close combat and is the most effective way to clear out a corridor of Covenant in the game. Combat Evolved did a great job of setting up the foundations for 🐲the Assault Rifle. 20 years later, the MA5B serves as a blueprint for all the follow-up versions of the gun that is still a key feature of most Halo titles.
1 ꧅ Halo Infi🦂nite: The MA40 Assault Rifle
The newest game in the series, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Halo Infinite does more than just breathe life into the franchise. Infinite also manages to bring forth the best version of the Assault Rifle to date. The new and improved version of the gun, the MA40 Assault Rifle, finally gives the weapon its due. Its range and accuracy are dramatically improved and there's scarcely any recoil, which makes pinpoint targeting on an enemy an easy feat. The gun also has arguably the best range it's ever boasted. Series fans may be surprised how effectively they can pick off targets from a distance in Infinite.
Its effectiveness in multiplayer is something very new and fresh. At close range, you can take down an opponent’s shields within seconds. For those now venturing into the campaign of the game, being armed with the Assault Rifle will feel like less of a hassle but more of a gift. After 20 years of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Halo fans sharing passionate opinions, there's one thing most should agree on: the Assault Rifle is finally getting the respect it deserves and has been reinvented as a go-to weapon.
