Halo: Combat Evolved, the game that started it all and led the way for Xbox's success, is considered by many to be 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the best in the franchise. Every mission is chock-full of trivia. Nineteen years later, numerous things are still being dis♎covered in the Bungie title. No matter how many times you play through this incredible game, there will always be something new you discover.
Halo as a franchise is filled to the brim with Easter Eggs, glitches, secrets and a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:very deep lore. None of the first game's ten levels f🥃ail to deliver in any of these regards, and even for the biggest fans of the series, there's almost certainly something you don't know about each of these missions.
10 The Pillar Of𒁏 Autumn ﷽
With the first level in the series, players have to wait a bit before they can get in on the action on "The Pillar of Autumn." Specifically, you must wait until you meet Captain Keyes, where he will hand you his Magnum and 𝓰you can get down to business. But did you ever take the opportunity to zoom in on Keyes' nametag with the magnum scope? Players are usually too eager to get into battle to stop and read nametags, but those who do will notice that Keyes' nametag reads "Hello My Name Keyes." Turns out the UNSC🦄 nametags aren't quite big enough for "is."
9 Halo
"Halo," known for its unnatural cave formations, also has a reputation as being one of the worst levels in the game's history to be a marine. Not only does Master Chief pinball around the dropship in the opening cutscene, killing all marines on board, but the rescue missions where you save the marines are completely optional. In fact, it is much easier for players to simply murder all of the marines with grenades at each rescue point than it is to kill all the enemies, much easier. The only point where Chief must kill all enemies ౠis the final rescue point, though that's just to allow Echo-419 to land, whom C🌞ortana mistakenly calls a lieutenant, whereas she is actually a captain.
8 The Truth Aဣnd Reconciliation
"The Truth and Reconciliation" contaꦆins many firsts. It is the first and only mission in the game that does not feature a magnum. It is the first mission in the game to feature an unskippable opening cutscene, which is the case for all levels whose opening cutscenes feature a Pelican. As a stealth mission, it is also the first missio🍸n to feature invisibility.
One issue that many players encounter when playing this mission is that enemies will see you when you're invisible. This is because, despite your flashlight not working when invisible, enemies will still be able to "see" it if you fail to turn it off, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:due to a bug. Because🎶🦄 the level takes place at night, many players will turn their flashlight on, causing their cloaking to fail as they try to sneak through the early areas. Always remember to turn off the lights!
7 Th💝e Silent Carto🌌grapher
One of the best levels in the entire Halo franchise, "The Silent Cartographer" could have a list all to itself of level trivia. Upon starting the level, you will begin in a Pelican that comes to land on a beach, piloted by Echo-419... Or is it? After exiting the Pelican, take a look at both of the Pelicans that landed. You will notice that both of them have "E419" written on their sides, implying that there is not one, but two Echo-419s. This is reassuring, as it means🤡 that though one Echo-419 met her demise in "The Maw," we still have another out there.
6 🐼 Assault On The Control Room
Similar to the previous level, you begin "Assault on the Control Room" in a Pelican. If players repeatedly mash the reload button as the game forcibly removes you from the pelican after the cutscene, it's possible to actually get back in the Pelican, and it will fly you away. The pelican will spiral ꦗdownwards through the building and through a large tunnel, where it will likely crash and kill yoꦗu. It is possible to survive, however, and if you do, you can freely walk around in the abyss, and even take a peak at Echo-419 through the windshield, though she only appears in Anniversary graphics
5 ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ 343 Guilty Spark
In case you somehow didn't think 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:"343 Guilty Spark" was spooky enough, since it's the level that introduces the Flood, the level adds to the creepiness in the very same cutscene where the Flood are introduced. After Master Chief opens the door to the Flood room, a dead marine falls into his arms before Chief lays him on the ground. Players who are particularly astute here will notice that the marine actually blinks during the shot pictured above, as Chief is laying him on the ground. Halo cutscenes aren't exactly scenes, they're rendered in real-time using in-game assets, which means it's🌸 likely that Bungie needed to use a living marine to perform the animation, but forgot to remove the occasional blinking.
4 The Library 🐭 💫
Absolutely no one's favorite level is "The Library," but it does have some cool trivia. The Monitor, 343 Guilty Spark, actually has a secret hiding spot on this map, where players can find him hanging out. Once you reach the second elevator of the level, ride it up for about six seconds, then jump off ✱of it. If you then run underneath the elevator and towards the middle, there will be a large hole that you can drop down.
If you ha💯ve overshields, you will survive the fall and find 343 Guilty Spark spinning around in circles at the bottom of the pit. After a few seconds, he will start looking around freely and occasionally talk to you.
3 💃 Two Betrayals
The hardest mission in the game, "Two Betrayals," shows Cortana acting distinctly British in the opening cinematic, using terms such as "toady off," referring to the Monitor as "your chum," and finally telling the Monitor to "sod off," all in short succession. , this is due to the fact that Jason Jones originally intended Cortana to have a British accent, but the idea was cut during development, though the colloquialisms were kept in the dialogue here. Jen Taylor, who voices Cortana could do a fine British accent, but Bungie was worried that it would sound too similar to her work for No One Lives Forever.
2 Keyes
You likely remember the end of "Keyes." You fight through waves of Covenant and Flood to reach the hangar, grab a Banshee and then escape through the bay do🐼ors into space. Well, did you ever consider turning around and flying the other way? The banshees at the end of this level do not have functioning hitboxes, and can actually be used to fly through the geometry of the level. By simply turning around and flying forward, players can glide through the walls of the map and explore the 🧜ship until the screen fades out.
1 The Maw
The Warthog escape at the end of "The Maw," while it is incredibly fun 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:and one of the best endings to any first-person shooter ever conceived, it doesn't make any sense. The level has you drive down the length of the ship for 3.5 kilometers to reach the Pelican to escape, before the Pillar of Autumn is destroyed. The glaring issue with this is that the Pillar of Autumn is famously only 1.17 kilometers long, so the warthog escape spans almost exactly🅰 three times the length of the ship. This mistake is forgivable, however, as without it, tꦐhe Warthog run would be only a third of the length that it is, and who would want that?
