Though Escharum plays the main villain throughout 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Halo Infinite's campaign, Atriox's role in the story is absolutely pivotal. First seen in Halo Wars 2, this gargantuan Brute was introduced as the le🦹ader and founder of the Banished. And since the Banished is the main antagonistic force in Infinite, it only makes sense that Atriox would be involved in its plot.
However, Halo Infinite did not provide fans with nearly enough info about this most infamouꩲs of Brutes. For those wanting to know more about Atriox's character, look no further than the little-known facts about him listed below.
10 ⛄Super Intelligent 🐓
Atriox has always been presented as a much more formidable foe than his 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:other Banished brethren. A lot of that has to do with his experience on the battlefield and the amount of conflict he's been at the center of. The reason he's survived isn't just luck, but he's clearly shown that he is much more intelligent than almost all other Brutes. This intelligence has not only helped him from a strategic perspective, but emotionally, it's 🐠allowed him to be much more level-headed.
9 💦 Featured In A Comic
Most people relate Atriox to just the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Halo Wars games, but h𒅌e actually has a canon comic series that exp🐭ands on his backstory. The comic is called Halo: Rise of Atriox and was released as a 5-part series alongside the marketing push for Halo 5. The comic was published by Dark Horse Comics and released between August 2017 through June 2018. It focuses on how Atriox rose to power and became the main leader of The Banished.
8 🌄 His🅺 ODST Armor
Halo as a series has a tradition of introducing enemies that wear the armor of the Spartans they kill in battle. Atriox may have appeared first in the spinoff 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:RTS titles, but his design follows in this very tradition. A glance at his design will show that he has human armor ꦅcovering his stomach.
T𒁏his is in fact an ODST breastplate that he repurposed for himself, and is used as a warning sign to his enemies as it indicates he has vanquished an ODST and sports it like a medal.
7 💛 More Arro🃏gant Than Escharum
Throughout Halo: Infinite's campaign it becomes quite clear that Escharum respects Master Chief and understands just how dangerous he is to the Banished. He talks about their eventual skirmish being the thing of legends and that he conꩵsiders it an honor to even have the chance to face off against him. Atriox is not Escharum,🦩 and due to his overwhelming confidence, he has a tendency to gloat. This is partially due to his high intelligence, but also because he has faced death many times and always came out on top.
6 ꦇ ✃ He Founded The Banished
Escharum is presented as the old guard of the Banished, but Atriox is the one who actually founded the faction. The UNSC AI from Halo Wars 2, Isabel, explained his actions when she said "In everything we know of the Covenant's thousand-year history, Atriox was the first to defy the Covenant and survive." Atriox became disgusted as he realized 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the Covenant was using the Brutes as cannon fodder andꦑ founded The Banished as a solution to watching his people be butchered for seemingly no re🥀ason at all.
5 🔯 Recruited A🅷ll Species
Atriox may have founded the Banished to give Brutes a new purpose, but he wasn't picky during the recruiting process. Any and all species were welcome, including humans, provided they bend the knee and came equipped w🌟ith the appropriate conditions of service and willingness for violen𝔉ce. Presenting himself this way greatly aided in the recruitment process and was likely why he was able to build up his forces so quickly.
4 💦Spartan Red Team Brawl 🦋
With rumors swirling about whether Spartan Red Team would appear in Halo: Infinite, it's iไmportant to understand their connection to Atriox. They were the team tasked with taking down the leader of the Banished after he arrived on the Ark. Not only did Atriox ambush the Spartans, but he almost killed Douglas-042 during the fight. The team was forced to retreat following the critical injuries Douglas had suffered. Taking out a whole team of Spartans isn't easy, but Atriox showcased what made him so frighteningly dangerous at that moment.
3 A Sense Of Honor 🐓
On 🧸the surface, it may seem as though Atriox is the typical video game villain that's presented as a calculated and cold violence-addicted warrior, but it appears he possesses honor to some extent.
On two different occasions, being his encounter with Cutter and his battle with Spartan Red Team, he gifts them the opportunity to survive and flee despite having the chance and capability to slaugh﷽ter them all. It's clear his resentment of the Covenant greatly outweighed an expected blind hatred of humankind.
2 His Gravity Ha🌞mmer Is Called The Chainbreak🦩er
Every great weapon in fiction has a name, and a villain like Atriox is bound to have something at his side wit♕h such a mystique attached. Chainbreaker is the name of his modified Gravity Hammer that was custom-built to serve as an energy mace. It was the weapon that almost single-handedly killed a Spartan during his battle with Red Team. This two-handed weapon ⭕is dangerous when wielded by a normal Brute, but in the hands of someone with as much intelligence and combat experience as Atriox, it becomes the thing of nightmares.
1 ♔ The Sole Survivor
Being the sole survivor of a traumatic event can make a character take some drastic actions. During the Human-Covenant War Atriox was deployed in units of 40 members, and every time he returned as the only survivor. This led to Atriox be𒅌coming jaded toward the Covenant and was likely the catalyst for his creation of The Banished. He began to resent the Covenant for making him fight in a war focused on beliefs he did not share. It is rather ironic that his ability to survive was both the singular thing that brought him respect and honor inside the Covenant, but was the driv💝ing force behind why he would eventually defy them.
