Xbox's long awaited has finally touched down – and with it came Halo Infinite in all of ꦗits glory. After a lengthy pre-show, the presentation began with th𝓀e highly-anticipated sixth main entry in the franchise.
The Halo title debuted with a beautiful, short cinematic trailer narrated by Cortana, immediately followed by almost five minutes of uninterrupted gameplay. After Master Chief and an unknown pilot crash-land in Covenant territory, our green-armored hero sets out to take down some anti-aircraft cannons. The entire showcase is a bit of a nostalgia trip as Chief kills some Covenant foes, jets around in a Warthog, and wields some familiar weaponry – all accompanied by iterations on old Halo theme music.
The graphics themselves seem like nothing to write home about, but the gameplay appears to be solid regardless. T꧃he background visuals look stunning to be sure, don't get us wrong – it just doesn't quite break any molds. Nonetheless, this will be easy to overlook if the gameplay and campaign are well-polished.
During 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Halo Infinite's gameplay reveal, some new features were shown off. First of all, this will be the first open-world Halo game. The new map system is revealed throughout the demo, using a birds-eye view similar to games such as those in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Elder Scrolls series. We also know that we're getting at ꦦleast one new weapon. Dubbed the VK78 Commando Tactical Rifle (Kinetic class) – the UNSC gun appears to be slow-firing and powerful.
Some of the new mechanics and items that were showcased are quite peculiar. Master Chief will be able to use the Drop Wall – a stationary transparent shield that allows players to shoot through it from behind, but enemies cannot penetrate it. Perhaps most interesting, however, is Chief's new grapple mechanic – similar to Pathfinder from 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Apex Legends.
Fans on both YouTube and Twitch seemed a bit divided, with some communicating boredom and others losing their minds with excitement. It's safe to say that 343 Industries has created something that will undoubtedly draw hardcore Halo fans, but it may not bring anything too 🍒jaw-dropping to the franchise.
