During Thursday's Xbox Games Showcase, we were finally given a closer look at 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Halo: Infinite. Through about eight minutes of gameplay, it quickly became clear that 343 Industries is looking to deliver a package that both looks and feels like a Halo game while simultaneously setting itself apart from ever🍒y other entry in the se༒ries.
Halo: Infinite aims to reboot the Halo series without rebooting the Halo series. What exactly does that mean? Well, the game's primary goal is to give newcomers a perfect opening to enjoy the series without having to worry about everything that's happened beforehand. At the very same time, Infinite aims to be a game that fans wꦜho have been there since day one can ap🅺preciate as well.
New Beginnings
Infinite will begin very closely to how the original Halo: Combat Evolved begins. Master Chief wakes up and finds himself in the middle of a battle to save the human race, and it quickly becomes clear that he's their only chance. Even when you compare the cover of the original game to that of the upcoming entry, it becomes obvious that Infinite aims to be a new beginning for the series.
This new beginning is there in order to leave the door wide open for a new generation of gamers to experience Halo. Instead of developing a game called Halo 6 and tackling the tall task of continuing a story spanning nearly two decades, 343 instead wants to recapture what made Halo such an immersive experience in the first place.
That's exactly why Infinite begi💛ns with a pilot discovering Master Chief floating through space. Neither the pilot nor Master Chief really understand what is currently going on in the universe, allowing new players to uncover that mystery along with♔ the character they're playing as.
Don't Forget The Day Ones
The genius here is that Halo Infinite accomplishes this refreshed viewpoint without alienating players that want to know what happened after the events of Halo 5. The game will both continue the story while starting back up from a point where🤪 anyone can jump on board without feeling lost in the woods.
This concept is not only carried out through the game's story, but it's clearly present in the gameplay experience as well. Halo Infinite's combat looks about as familiar as a Halo ga⛦m𓃲e can get, yet new elements have been put in place to quickly set it apart from the usual formula.
Fresh Yet Familiar
The most obvious departure from its classic formula is the fact that Infinite will take place in an open world. Instead of progressing through linear levels, players will be presented with a sandbox where they can complete objectives in any order they please. That sandbox will be filled with 💟familiar enemies and gameplay elements, but with an entirely new sense of freedom to explore.
This, along with a new collection of weapons and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:an epic grappling hook, makes Infinite's campaign out to be the most exciting one we've seen in years. Personally, it's the first time that I've cared about a Halo campaign since 2007's Halo 3 – and that's saying something.
What really drives home the idea that this isn't the same old Halo is 343's ambitions for the game. According to the developer, Infinite will serve as a platform for the franchise spanning over the next ten years, ev🅠olving alongside the community. It's hard to wrap your head around what exactly that might entail, but it's even harder not to be excited about it.
So while the Halo series might have fallen off over the last few entries, and while I originally approached Infinite with cautious optimism, it's hard not to find interest in what exactly 343 Industries plans to do with the franchise. There's no telling how successful that plan will be until later this year, but here's to hoping Halo Infinite will remindꦛ us why we fell in love with the series in the first place.
