Stranded for six months after being bested by Atriox and the Banished, Master Chief is recovered by a UNSC pilot in the orbit of Zeta Halo. Despite the UNSC being completely decimated, the Spartan is determined to take the fight 💫to the Banished on the sur𓃲face and protect humanity.
Halo Infinite’s campaign picks up a few years after its predecessor, something that is generally uncommon in the series. Typically, eacꦺh game would pick up immediately or close to where the last finished. The last time we checked in, Cortana was declaring war on the universe, so there’s quite a bit to catch up 🎃on. Even after beating the campaign, we’re still left with some lingering questions that demand answers.

7 Where 🐼Is The Flood? 🐼
Of all the nasty alien foes that cross Master Chief’s path, none are as vile as the Flood. These parasitical fiends are a catastrophic threat to the universe, feeding♕ on any other organic substance in front of them. The Flood resides on Halo rings, so many expected to see them on Zeta Halo. Unfortunately (or fortunately), the Flood does not appear in Halo Infinite, so where are they?
Despite Gravemind perishing, the Flood continued to exist on other Halo structures. Gravemind served as the hivemind of the Flood, so we’d like to think that another elderly Flood replaced it as the new hive mind. There wasn’t any confirmation that the Flood doesn’t exist on Zeta Halo, just 𝐆simply there are other threats more dangerous than them. So, there is a chance?
6 Who🅷 Is The Harbinger And The Endless?
Other than Escharum and the Banished, the Harbinger acts as the other main antagonist to Ma🍒ste𒊎r Chief. The floating creature is hellbent on activating the Silent Auditorium and unleashing the Endless from their presumed prison. But who exactly is the Harbinger?
They don’t appear to be part of an alien race of the Covenant, nor are they part of the Banished. There was even a point during the campaign where Escharum was on the verge of possibly waging his own war against the Harbinger when they failed to stop the Weapon and Master Chief from destroying the beacons on Zeta Halo. It’s been reported that 343 Industries trademarked the Endless, so perhaps we'll know a lot more about them in due time.
5 Where Did E💯lite Assassin Go?
Escharum has powerful allies among the Banished,ܫ one being an energy-sword-wielding Elite named Jega ‘Rdomnai. This deadly Elite might be one of the most dangerﷺous foes the UNSC has ever encountered, as they are responsible for multiple Spartan deaths on Zeta Halo. Master Chief finally gets his revenge and bests the Elite in the House of Reckoning, but is the Elite really dead?
Unlike literally any other enemy, ‘Rdomnai’s body doesn’t collapse and lay on the ground after Master Chief defeats him. The Elite uses active camo during the battle and once Chief deals enough damage, ‘Rdomnai disappears without a trace. There isn’t mention of the Elite from that point on, but if we don’t have an actual body then we have to believ🧸e the Elite is still out there, healing up for another round with the legendary Spartan.
4 Why Was Master Chief Gone For Three Days? 🗹
After defeating the Harbinger and preventing the Endless from being released, Master Chief miraculously escaped the colla♚psing structure by jumping blindly into a portal. The Spartan reappears, crashing into the ground outside at high speeds, but is otherwise finally safe. Echo-216 excitedly chimes in that the Chief’s marker is finally online and comes to pick him up.
The UNSC pilot reveals that Master Chief and the Weapon were gone for three days inside the Silent Auditorium. How exactly is that possible? Clearly, there is a huge difference in how time moves inside the structure, but why? Was it meant t🅰o preserve the Endless, so they could survive for extremely long periods of time? Time jumps are usually confusing and this one is no different; hopefully, we learn what purpose time being slowed inside the Silent Auditorium means in the grand scheme of things.
3 What Name Does Th⛄e Weapon Choose?
Before facing off against the Harbinger and Escharum, Master Chief finally learns what exactly happened to Cortana. In her conquest for absolute control, Cortana crossed paths with Atriox and the Banished. It’s shown that Cortana tried to strongarm Atriox into submitting to her, but he refused. Cortana pr💫oceeded to deꦫstroy his homeworld, though Atriox would get his revenge later.
Amongst the echoes, Master Chief sees when he was intr♔oduced to Cortana. Doctor Catherine Halsey tells the Spartan that the program chose her own name. Before the credits roll on Halo Infinite, Echo-216 reveals his name being Fernando Esparza and asks what the Weapon𒊎’s name is. The Weapon doesn’t reveal what she chose to call herself, but all signs point to her being the new Cortana.
2 🌊 💞 How Is Atriox Alive?
Once the credits finis🅘h rolling on Halo Infinite, there’s one final scene that sets up the next adversary for Master Chief. Somehow, someway, Atriox is alive and he’s on the verge of potentially unleashing the Endless. Throughout the campaign, it’s mostly implied that Atriox was dead with Escharum in charge of the Banished.
Given that there were some temporal displacements with Master Chief being gone for three days in the Silent Auditorium, who knows when exactly this scene is taking place. Finishing the campaign on Legendary will also for more context as to where the series might go 🔯next with the Endless.
1 Is Master Chief The Last Spartan Alive? 𒊎
For quite some time, Master Chief assumed he was the last remaining Spartan alive after the Covenant destroyed the main Spartan base of Reach.♔ But throughout the series, it was revealed that other super-soldiers survived and Master Chief finally encountered a few of them in Halo 4. Various Spartans return in Halo Infinite, but based on how the campaign transpired, is John-117 the last remaining Spartan again?
Master Chief comes across many fallen Spartans on Zeta Halo, all bested by the sword-wielding Elite, Jega ‘Rdomnai. Master Chief eventually, seemingly, gets his revenge against the Elite, but it begs the question if there are any other Spartans left, and if so, where are they? We can assume that there might be a few Spartans elsewhere on the ring with Lasky from Audio Logs, but for now, Master C🐓hief might be flying solo once again.
