168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Halo Infinite is the latest installment of the legendary FPS series, and the first to take the games into the open-world format. Unlike past campaigns, however, Infinite operates with only a handful of characters, giving this sprawling, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:hidden-secret-laden story a decidedly intimate feel.
The tale of Master Chief fending off the Banished and st🍃opping them from firing the Zeta Halo plays out in a very personal manner, with much of the dialogue players experience coming from either Chief himself, the young AI Weapon, the mysterious Pilot who found Spartan-117 floating in space, or some audio logs. That doesn’t stop Infinite from having some fantastic anꦏd deeply memorable quotes, though. From musings on hope to cool-as-can-be one-liners, Halo Infinite is not lacking when it comes to the writing.
Beware of story spoilers in the entries ahead!
10 “It’s enough.” -Master Ch♍ief ဣ
After being rescued from floating in space by the Pilot, Master Chief quickly sets off in search of answers and to complete his ꦚmission. He first asks for a weapon. The Pilot hands him a Magnum, one of Halo’s most iconic guns of all, but warns that it only has one shot left.
The exchange that follows is pure Halo, with Chief responding to the Pilot’s questions with the stoic confidence that makes him one of the iconic characters of all time.🥃 As he hops through space debris on the way towards danger, the player believes him when he says that one weapon with just one shot is enough.
9 “The missions change. They always do.” -Mꦉas🐼ter Chief
After retrieving the Weapon from a base on Zeta Halo,ඣ she explains that her protocol was to be deleted after dealing with Cortana; but she’s still functional. When she tells Chief to delete her, stating that it’s h𝔍is mission, he refuses. He then states that missions always change, no doubt in reference to all of his past adventures.
It has not been an easy road for Master Chief up until this point, andꦦ his missions have rarely (if ever) gone exactly according to plan. Not only is this quote from the Chief wise, but it’s one that players understand right away.
8 ꦏ “Then there’s still hope.” -Master Chief𒆙
A great deal of Halo Infinite's narrative is themed around the concept of perseverance and hope in a situation where the odds are always against you. This is a notion, then, that the characters discuss at great length throughout the campaign. When you discover the bodies of a fallen squad early on in the campaign, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the enigma that is the Pilot remarks that ther💞e’s a real chance that he and ꦆMaster Chief are the only ones left alive on Zeta Halo.
Again, though, this thought does not deter the stoic Master Chief. As long as the two of them are there fighting the Banished, there’s hope that humanity will p👍ersevere.
7 “We all fail. We all make mistജakes. It’s what makes us human.” -Mas𒉰ter Chief
In possibly Halo Infinite’s best moment, the Pilot is sorting through the rubble of downed UNSC ships, d🥀evastated, after a mission gone wrong. When he confesses his past and mistakes to Master Chief, the Spartan legend gives him a reminder that he’s human too, that he has also made mistakes in the past, like failing Cortana.
Master Chief can be a difficult character to read, but this moment really hig🐠hlights his growth across his many journeys. Ultimately, he’s just as human as the Pilot, and that perspectiꦏve makes a huge difference to the Chief’s defeated companion.
6 “When you look back on these last days you will realize that all🌊 you built... was a tomb. A place where hope dies.” -Escharum
The current🃏 leader of the🥂 Banished, Escharum, isn’t necessarily a highlight of the campaign, but he does deliver a powerful villainous monologue about humanity’s idea of hope that also highlights his own ideology. Like any brutish (pun absolutely intended) villain, his world view relies heavily on strength in the place of lofty ideals or emotions.
By trying to break down the idea of hope, he hopes to snuff that posit🐻ivity out of his enemies. It doesn’t work out, naturally, but these are still some of the most impactful words spoken in a series that hasn’t alwayꦏs focused on individual antagonists.
5 ဣ “Just promise me one thing: Whatever happens, save him. He needs you. You’re all he has.” -The Weapon 🌜
Late in the game, the Weapon is confronted with the truth about her existence, more than earning fans' nickname for her, "New Cortana." The AI is absolutely shaken to the core by the revelation and wishes to be deleted by Master Chief, as seemed to be the case since the pair's first encounter at the game’s beginning.
By making this ch♋oice, and following it with a plea for Chief to continue helping the Pilot get home, Weapon shows how different she actually is from her AI predecessor, Cortana. She’s 🐲selfless and wants the best for her companion, proving herself to be a strong match for Master Chief.
4 “The intricacies of any action are complex. The reactions numerous, yet mostly predictable.” -Cortana ꦚ
It wouldn’t quite be a Halo game if Cortana didn’t appear in so▨me capacity. When the dearly departed A෴I does show up later in the game, players get a glimpse of how much Chief’s one-time companion had changed as time went on.
Her viewpoint on the way events unfold revolves around the idea that actions are complex but their outcomes are predictable. This logic approach is far too simplistic for a universe like the one in Halo. There are always variables at play. The mission always changes, and Cortana showꦫs that she lost sight of that.
3 “Banished? W🎉hat a🦄re they doing here?” “Making a mistake.” -Cpt Lasky / Master Chief
Not every moment of dialogue in Haꦬlo Infinite is ponderous and thought-provoking, though. 343 Industries have a strong grasp on Master Ch𒀰ief’s character, including his fearless and intimidating nature as well as his way with words.
John-117 is just about as quick with a one-liner as he is with a Battle Rifle, and he gets plenty of time to make them at his foes' expense in Infinite’s open world adventure. He’s right to do so, too: The Banished always think they have the Spartan cornered, but those firefights always end one way.
2 “A Spartan is a symbol... In times of darkness, we are hope. And together... we are unstoppable!” 🃏-Laurette Agryna ♍
Not every memorable quote in Halo Infinite is delivere🎃d during the course of the main campaign. In the cinematic intro for the game’s multiplayer, a Spartan officer named A♚gryna speaks of the super-soldiers’ true purpose: hope.
This idea is the driving force of the main na🦄rrative, and it still packs a punch and serves as a reminder of the power that these soldiers hold in the eyes of civilians and enemies alike. For players, this serves as the perfect segue into the title’s online mode, where you can only hope to win against🥀 the series’ many battle-hardened veteran fans.
1 🅺 "Dibs on the helmet!" -Grunt #437 𒆙
The Grunts are, simply put, the best part of Halo Infinite’s campaign, next to the grappling hook. These 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:low-level enemy troops are at their very funniest in thꦡis game, begging for their lives after a comrade is killed or tauntin🔯g Master Chief before a firefight breaks out.
Whether these little pests are crying that they “just work here!” or asking Chief if he's sad about Cortana, they give an emotional campaign plenty of levity with their comedic commentary. They're hardly a threat by themselves, but they inject a wealth of personality into the Halo universe and it would be a lesser place without them.
