Developer 343 Industries has been hard at work porting over all of the Halo games to PC this year. With Halo Infinite scheduled🐬 to be a launch title for Microsoft's Xbox Series X, the company wants fans on their platform of choice to be ready for when the Chief's "final" chapter is upon us. What better way to do that than with a crossplay update?

In the latest post over on Halo Waypoint, 343 has mentioned that crossplay is in the pipeline for a 2020 release. There's no specific timeframe for that update, but it will likely appear before Halo Infinite hits our hard🌱 drives by holiday 2020. That will be great for people that either don't owꦚn an Xbox One or can't make it over to a friend's house for co-op.

Along with crossplay will be an option to toggle which region the matchmaking system will look in. Currently, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Halo: The Master Chief Collection has matchmaking set to all regions and that often results in laggy battles. With a region toggle, you'll be able to limit the search pool and pote🔜ntially get better connections going. That's going to be a godsend, as well as the input based matchmaking that will filter out those on gamepads or keyboard/mouse.

In more gameplay-related matters, 343 will begin testing on Halo 3: ODST's PC port soon. Entering the "Public Flight" like past installments, this means that a release is probably imminent. That could be why crossplay is finally coming as 343 will be close to finished with these PC ports after ODST's release.

When ODST release, the Xbox One version is said to be getting mouse and keyboard support. That will help with the input based matchmaking and even level the playing field for crossplay. All the stars are aligning and this batch of updates should ensure The Master Chief Collection remains the definitive Halo experience for years to come.

While the PC ports haven't been flawless, Halo 3 recently hit the platform and proved to be with little issue. 343 is clearly getting better and hopes are high that the final two games make the transition will no problems. That would be an excellent way to usher in the next era of Halo.
