Master Chief's helmet is probably the most iconic piece of armor in all gaming, up there alongside Mario's cap and Link's tunic as pieces of clothes that instantly bring to mind the franchises they appear in. Halo has made use of Master Chief's helmet many times over the years for dramatic reveals and marketing purposes, but it seems to be something the Halo TV show isn't too keen on doing.

The premiere date for Halo's second season was revealed today, along with a trailer and a couple of posters. The original season already riled up fans for showing us Master Chief's face, something that hasn't happened in the Halo games for its entire history, but Season 2 has already managed to wind up fans by how little the helmet shows up in promotional material.

It's Finally Time To Give Halo Infinite Its Due

With consistent seasons and meaningful content upda🐎tes, Halo Infinite has finally become t🌼he game it always should have been.

One particular image is currently the subject of anger from Halo fans, that being an image of a helmetless Master Chief with a soldier over his shoulder while he trudges across a chaotic battlefield. You 𓃲can see the image embedded below, including a tweet from Twitter user TheBoysUnknown, complaining that the poster looks like a "generic sci-fi war movie/show" if you removed the Halo logo, and confused as to why Paramount has left out the "strongest and instantly recognizable part" of the brand.

Fans are just as angry and confused , as an edit of the same poster, but with Master Chief wearing a helmet, has racked up thousands of upvotes and hundreds of comments. In this post, user Officer-skitty wonders why the show won't "give us what we want", and they're not the only fan asking questions about Master Chief's helmet.

His helmet is instantly recognizable to anyone regardless if they're familiar with Halo. Why in the hell would you go out of your way to remove that feature and replace it with what is essentially just some guy?

Another fan in the replies points to The Mandalorian and Judge Dredd as examples of movies and shows that are successful that hide the face of the main character for the vast majority of their runtime. Others think that this poster makes it clear that the Halo TV show is no longer for Halo fans, and that it's "for your mom and dad that don't know anything about Halo".

Regardless of your thoughts and feelings towards the Halo TV show, it is a little strange that Master Chief's helmet is nowhere to be seen in this poster. Even when it is present on different posters, Master Chief isn't wearing it, and it does feel like Paramount is advertising the actor rather than the character. Hopefully, the second season will be top-notch and fans will start to come around, though it seems pretty unlikely at this point.
