Master Chief is the main face of the Halo franchise, but there have been plenty of side characters who have proven themselves to be just as heroic, some of whom don't have the luxury of being kitted out in powerful Spartan armor. However, that doesn't mean they should be denied a chance to stand out.

There are a few who've been given the chance to star in their own games, such as the Rookie from Halo 3: ODST and Noble Six from Halo: Reach, but given the vast amount of lore within the franchise nowadays (especially outside of the games), it's high time that these other characters are afforded some of the spotlight as well.

10 Rtas 'Vadum

Halo 2 Rtas 'Vadum

Otherwise known as the Shipmaster, this Elite is one of the Arbiter's best allies throughout the series. He has a rich history of his own and deals with 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:any threat of the Flood with utmost seriousness ꦆsince he witnessed their capabilities aboard the Infinite 🍰Succor.

'Vadum's role as Shipmaster could see him as the protagonist of another Halo Wars spin-off, but it would also be possible for him to star in a standard FPS game since he's not afraid to fight on the ground alongside his fellow troops.

9 Jun

Jun aiming down a sniper rifle

Jun is the only member of Noble Team to survive the fall of Reach and serves as the team's scout and sniper. Prior to the events of Halo: Reach, he also worked for the Office of Naval Intelligence (otherwise known as ONI).

As such, Jun's various skills could allow for a different approach to a Halo game because his role at ONI was to carry out various assassinations, and it could be an interesting change for a game in the series to be based on that style of combat.

8 Tartarus

Tartarus wielding the Fist of Rukt

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Sometimes it's fun to play as the bad guy, and they don't come much nastier than Tartarus. This Brute Chieftain worked his way up through Covenant hierarchy by force, to the point where he becomes a close ally to the Prophet of Truth.

Tartarus mainly has the spotlight in Halo 2 as the antagonist, but it would be interesting to play a Halo game where you're in control of a character as physically strong as him, especially since he took part in the first skirmish against humanity in the Human-Covenant War.

7 Buck

Halo 3 ODST Buck

Edward Buck has made appearances in Halo 3: ODST (as the team's leader) and Halo 5 (as part of Locke's squadron), but there's so much more to his character than those two games are able to reveal.

For example, Buck's early military career sees him fight through the early stages of the Human-Covenant War, or there's the period 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:where he tookಌ part in the SPARTAN-IV program for the UNSC. His humanity also helps to give the series a bit of 💦a lighter tone when needed.

6 ཧ The Grunts

Four Grunts with grenades running towards the screen

The Grunts, or Unggoy, form the lowest ranks of Covenant society and spend their time acting as cannon fodder for your various weapons. It can therefore be difficult to take them seriously, but that doesn't mean they won't stand up for themselves when needed.

This is a reality that the Covenant discovered during 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the Unggoy rebellion, which would be a perfect opportunity to put the Grunts in the spotlight since it's the one time they were able to strike fear thanks to their numbers and ferocity.

5 Carter

Halo Reach Carter With Noble Team

Carter꧋ serves as the leader of Noble Team in Halo: Reach and is proven to be very good at w♓hat he does, as demonstrated by the years he spent in active duty.

Since newer Halo gaꦐmes sometimes allow you to lead a squadron of soldiers, a prequel game with Carter at the lead could potentially operate in a similar style to Spec Ops: The Line, where your soldiers are just as critical as you in completing the mission (𝓰which would certainly be more fun than them getting in the way).

4 🔴 Miranda Keye🅺s

Miranda Keyes certainly manages to live up to the reputation of her father in no small part to her bravery. As Halo 2 and 3 demonstrate, she's not afraid to go into the front lines and she's able to make split-second decisions in the heat of battle.

Given her skills, it's a wonder that Keyes hasn't had her chance to be in the spotlight yet. Her story may reach its end in Halo 3, but there are still plenty of opportunities to explore her achievements during her early military career.

3 Kat

Kat in combat with the Covenant during the events of Halo: Reach

Codenamed as "Noble Two," Kat is the technology expert for Noble Team in Halo: Reach, brilliant at both code breaking and strategic planning. She's also one of the founding members of Noble Team alongside Carter, so there's a chance to see how they grew as comrades over the years.

Furthermore, 🥂it would be a ni👍ce change to have a Halo game with an amputee as the main character, since Kat loses her right arm at the Battle of Fumirole and has it replaced with a robotic prosthetic.

2 ♕ Avery J💞ohnson

Master Chief and Johnson in the jungle

Johnson is one of the standout characters from the whole series and it's high time he got an entry all to himself, especially when you consider that he's experienced almost all of the Human-Covenant War.

This makes for a great opportunity for a game which explores the conflict as a whole, such as the Battle of Harvest where first contact was made, the various conflicts at Seoba and Etalan, or Operat🤪ion: SILENT STORM (which is 𒉰also where Johnson first met Master Chief whilst commanding the SPARTAN-IIs).

1 The Arbiter 🅺

Arbiter and Master Chief standing back to back in the Ark's control room

Thel 'Vadam (better known as the Arbiter) has a joint-protagonist role in Halo 2, is available to play via co-op in Halo 3 and appears in Halo 5, but he's yet to have a game where he is the sole lead of the story.

The Blooding Years would provide a perfect setting because ♏it showed that not all of the Elites were so pleased with the ceasefire against humanity, and yet the Arbiter was still skilled enough to put down the various rebellions which subsequently occurred.
