Hasbro and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Magic: The Gathering/168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dungeons & Dragons parent company 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Wizards of the Coast announced that it has "about 40" video games in the works and that it hopes to collaborate with 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Baldur's Gate 3 developer Larian Studios again as it pushes further into the medi🐈um.
Vi🐽deo games continue to be one of our investment areas - Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro Gaming president Cynthia Williams.
"We are aggressively investing in [gaming], seeking the best partners in the world to work with on interesting experiences on every platform, in every genre," Hasbro's senior vice president of digital strategy and licensing told . "I was hanging out with [Larian Studios] last night. I hope that we will be able to continue to work with them."
Last year, Hasbro announced that it was laying off 20 per🙈cent of its staff, ﷽or 1,100 people, after firing 800 that same year. This happened amidst reports of five cancelled video game projects and weak toy sales, ꦐcreating a "narrative" of Hasbro scaling back its push into gaming.
However, it has spent $1 billion on first-party video games and 🥂is in fact expanding its efforts. Williams also added that the job cuts ꦫdid not affect developers "in any significant way".
Larian S🍸tudios is already working on its next game, but we don't know what it is or if it's tied to any previous series like Divinity. Since Baldur's Gate 3 launched out of early access, fans have been calling for everything from 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:a Neverwinter Nights continuation to a standalone Waterdeep game, and some even hope that it'll step away from D&D and move into the realm of MTG (maybe a Kamigawa game, eh?)
Whatever the case, with Hasbro wanting to continue its working relat🔯ionship, 𒊎perhaps those wishes are less a fantasy than we thought.
In the meantime, Hasbro has a few upcoming projects pulled from its diverse portfolio in the works - there's a Transformers game called Reactive, a sci-fi RPG called Exodus, and a G.I. Joe: Snake Eyes game, as well as its ongoing multiplayer experiences like Magic: The Gathering Online and World of Peppa. CEO Chris Cocks recently told investors that it plans to publish a major video game in 2026, with plans to then launch one or two in each year that follows.
