Stardew Valley creator ConcernedApe says that if Haunted Chocolatier isn't fun and satisfying, he'll "just never release it".

When Haunted Chocolatier 🎶was revealed ღearlier in the month, it was made pretty clear from its creator that it wouldn't be coming until it was finished, with only a vague "now in development" attached to the trailer, and "this is the next game that I'm making, but It's not going to be ready for a while still" .

, ConcernedApe spoke a bit further on his development philosophy regarding the game. He said, "The bottom line, is that I won’t rest, or release this game, until I am personally satisfied that it’s very fun and compelling, in every aspect. If it never gets there, I’ll just never release it. But don’t worry, I have 100% faith that I’ll get it there. Everything is on the right track so far, I have the complete vision for the game in my head, and it’s just a matter of “grinding it out”, which is what I’m doing every day! Thanks for reading all this. Alright, I'm going back to work".

Elsewhere, ConcernedApe mentions that the swinging animation has changed since the game's reveal trailer, noting, "That’s because I’m still working on everything, and it’s all a work in progress. Everything seen so far could still change before the game is finished. If you followed the development of Stardew Valley, this will be familiar."

For those worried that Haunted Chocolatier might never see the light of day if things aren't going right, that's not really the point of what ConcernedApe is saying. It's more a promise that when the game releases, it'll be a game he's happy with releasing, which is also why there's no set release date, no consoles besides PC, and no promise of information coming soon. It seems that it'll simply be released whenever ConcernedApe has something new to say.
