Updated November 26th, 2022, by Shane Martin: Hearthstone Battlegrounds saw a decently sized update just a few weeks prior to the release of its March of the Lich King expansion. Among all the changes this game mode experienced, the intricate and diverse Quest Reward system was expanded upon a little bit, as a few interesting and niche Rewards were added to the pool. While some proved to be nothing overly special, and others proved to be relatively average, there were a couple that really shook up the meta and clearly became some of the best in the game. As such, this list was updated to include them, moving the order of Rewards around only slightly.
12 💦 Theotar’s Parasol 💞
While Theotar’s Parasol is an incredibly niche Quest Reward, it also happens to be incredibly good at filling its niche role♈, which is why it lands a spot on this list. You’ll mainly see this Reward being used with Baron Rivendare-focused teams, and for good reason: it guarantees he stays alive for the duration of every round. And if Baron stays alive, you’re getting your Deathrattles to consistently trigger two times (or three times, if he’s golden).
This works with Soul Jugglers and Scavenging Hyenas, too, to name a couple of others. However, no matter how good this is for these particular teams, it still is a very ဣniche Reward, which is why it only gets the ninth spot on this list.
11 Essencꦉe of Zerus 🍰
This is﷽ by no means a Quest Reward to take if you’re looking for reliability, especially if you’re looking for specific minions. Still, once you have enough Zeruses in your hand, you’re bound to get some of the minions you need.🎉 Should worse come to worst, you can sell a few for the extra gold.
With that in mind, the true strength of this Reward is its ability to land you a tier-five or six minion relatively ear𒊎ly on in your game. Getting a priority carry minion as early as Tavern Tier thre🦂e is nothing to scoff at, especially since it’s early enough in the game for you to pivot your team build around whatever high-tier minion you get.
10 Victim’s Speꦺcter
Victim’s Specter is an all-around solid Quest Reward to pick up. To be sure, it’s by no means the strongest, but it can help you in two ways: getting some spare gold ꦡto spend and getting your minions upgraded to gold-quality faster (since it makes it easier for you to get a three-of-a-kind).
Give this one a try, especially if you’ve got minions on board that can get buffed when you pla🗹y other minions (like Molten Rock or Rabid Saurolisk) or a bunch of Battlecry minions on board (Murlocs are top-tier in this case).
9 Ritual D🎀agger
While not the best stacking Quest Rewards, Ritual Dagger is easily one of the best. However, its biggest drawback is that it only works on Deathrattle minions, meaning it is utterly useless with a major🎀ity of team compos🍸itions. That said, it is phenomenal with Beasts and pretty darn good with Mechs, and Demons, so feel free to pick it up if you’re running one of those minion types.
8 Evil Twin
Evil Twin is one of your go-to Quest Rewards when you’re running a six-man team. These teams typically consist of minions that gain stats or have some sort of effect when another minion is played; to keep activating their effect, you n𓄧eed to keep playing minions.
As such, you need room on your board to cycle through minions, which is why your base team should only consist of six minions. The bigge🧸st drawback of these kinds of teams❀ is self-evident: you only have six minions on your board instead of seven. And that’s where Evil Twin comes in to cancel out that disadvantage entirely.
7 Red Hand
Red Hand, like Ritual Dagger, is another great stacking Quest Reward. It is a bit better, though, because it is not bound to Deathrattles or any type of minion, for that matter. It is a very good p♛reparatory tool as well since it allows you to buff a minion of interest in your hand instead of being forced to sell a minion on your board and buff it there.
Red Hand is still not the best stacking Quest Reward in the game, but it is very nearly there. What lets this shine even mo♎re is that you can buff typeless minions in your hand, which are typically minions that are difficult to get some extra stats on.
6 🦩 Pilfered Lamps 🦩
The value of Pilfered Lamps is quite clear and is something you definitely want to pick up if your team composition is dependent on late-game, tier-six minions (or if minions you want are being heavily contested). Being able to turn any minion into a golden minion by merely snagging a two-of-a-kind instead of a three-of-a-kind i♛s a massive help in finding the tools you need for your end-game team.
Pilfered Lamps is just all-around a very solid Quest Reward to have. The only real con🐼 to this one is that you can get ouﷺt-scaled if someone else in your lobby picks up a stacking Quest Reward, so beware of those.
5 ꦺ Ghastly Mask
We have finally arrived at the Ghastly Mask. This makes your end-of-turn effects trigger twice and gives you a free miꦑnion that has an end-of-turn effect (usually Bannerboar, Majordomo Executus,𓆏 Razorgore, or Charlga).
Ghastly Mask works with hero powers that are end-of-turn effects too, making it extremely valuable on the likes of Ragnaros, C’Thun, or Sire Denathrius, the latter of whom can pick up a second Quest Reward that is an end-of-turn-effect. Finally, while this Quest Reward may fall a bit short with non-Quilboar or Dragon teams, it will always excel with mixed minion te📖ams due to Lightfang Enforcer.
4 ꦯ E♍thereal Evidence
This Quest Reward is quite a fun one to pick up (and it’s pretty big-brained too). Being able to cycle through different Rewards is extremely valuable as it allows you t🧸o be far more flexible with your turns. More than that, it also gives you a large advantage against your opponents since they will have to start playing around multiple Rewards instead of just ♋one.
As amazing as Ethereal Evidence can perform♈, there is still a pretty strong element of luck involved, preventing it from being the best of the bu🧜nch. It’s still good enough to land it the number three spot, though.
3 Wondrous W𒅌isdomball
Wondrous Wisdomball is a bit of a luck-based Quest Reward, but it is hands down one of the best in the game. It’s so good that it landed the second-best Quest Reward on this list. While its description of occasionally giving “helpful Refreshes” may seem u♚nderwhelming, it is quite the opposite.
Wondrous Wisdomball can Refresh a tavern filled with minions of the same minion type of the team y🦄ou’re running. It can Refresh a tavern filled with buffed minions. It can even Refresh a tavern filled with Divine Shielded minions, which is amazing because it often hits minions that don’t normally have Divine Shield, making them incredibly powerful. And that just scratches the surface. If you see this Quest Reward, it is an amazing one to get.
