Nagas only got four minions in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Hearthstone Battlegrounds Season 4. Generally, you would expect such a small pool of minions to have a relatively low impact. At most, they would provide upgrades to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:already existing builds. However, some of these new mi🍃nions were so strong that Naga playstyles actually saw a dramatic shift with Season 4’s arrival.
Almost all of Season 4's Nagas come with Spellcraft spells that have unique and interesting abilities. Two of them also introduced an entirely new strategy for Naga builds, one that can compete with the other, powerful minions introduced in Season 4. Here are the latest additions to the sea-dwelling species, ranked.
4 𓄧 Reef Rif𝓡fer
Reef Riffer is relatively weak in the early game. On Tavern Tier 2, its Spellcraft spell will give you 2/2 in stats. That might be enough to swing narrowly decided combats, but usually won't matter all that much. However, the Riffer will steadily get better as you level up the Tavern. Getting 4/4, 5/5, or even 6/6 in stats during the midgame can make a significant difference.
Unfortunately, the line doesn’t go up forever; eventually, even 6/6 in stats will stop being especially relevant. The later a game goes, the more likely you’ll be to face down minions with attack and health in the triple digits, such as the massive stats you can find in Murloc and Pirate builds. At that point, Reef Riffer will be completely outclassed. It's the kind of minion that you won't be disappointed to pick up in many scenarios, but it won't define the direction your game takes, either.
3 🔴 𓆏Silent Swimmer
The 3/5 in stats Silent Swimmer can give your minions isn't completely irrelevant. It's about the same as what Reef Riffer would give you at the same Taver Tier. However, unlike the Riffer, those stats don't go up, which means they will be outclassed shortly after you find the Swimmer. But of course, it’s not the stats that make Silent Swimmer interesting.
What yo♏u really want it for is its ability to grant Stealth. Minions with Stealth can’t be targeted by enemy minions during normal combat. That can be disadvantageous in certain scenarios; sometimes you want you🔥r opponent’s minions to hit your high-statted minions, giving you favorable trades.
However, Stealth can be extremely useful for protecting key minions, like Titus Rivendare or Banana Slamma, keeping them alive so their effects can trigger extra times in combat. There's nothing worse than playing a Deathrattle build and seeing an enemy minion snipe your Rivendare early in a fight.
Using Silent Swimmer in this way does mean you need to take🅷 up a slot on your board for a minion that is otherwise not doing anything for you, so it can be awkward to actually fit into a build, despite its potential power level.
2 🥀 🐟 Zesty Shaker
Zesty Shaker is 🔴the only minion on this list that doesn’t have a Spellcraft spell associated with it.
What it has instead is the ability to duplicate the Spellcraft spells of other minions. Getting free Spellcraft spells is great for many reasons; you can get fun bonuses, like extr🔥a Divine Shields or Stealth, or just build up raw stats. You do need to play the first copy on the🐻 Zesty Shaker, so it’s not quite as good as getting a free spell to use as you like.
That’s why the Shaker is much better when tripled, as it gives you two copies of the spell played on it: one for the Shaker, one for the minion you were originally planning on using it💞 on, and one for an extra minion. Zesty Shaker’s best application, though, is its particular synergy with Deep Blue Croonerꦰ, which, as you may have worked out, is the top minion on this list.
Duplicating the Crooner’s Spellcraft spell is exceptional, making Zesty Shaker the second-most important min﷽ion in Crooner builds.
1 Deep Blue Crooner ♏ ܫ
The first Deep Blue Crooner you buy will be extremely weak. 3/3 in total stats would be unimpressive on Tavern Tier 3, let alone Tavern Tier 4. However, from that lowly starting point, the Crooner can scale infinitely. If🐈 you can find one early enough, you will eventually reach the point where your Crooner’s Spellcraft spells are giving 100/100 in stats.
Deep Blue Crooner also gets better the more copies of it you find, in part because the tripled 🍎version gives increased stats, and in part because each Deep Blue Crooner you have gives you more copies of its Spellcraft spell to play.
The copies Zesty Shaker creates also count towards the increase in stats, so once you find the first Crooner, any Shakers you find will have almost the same effect as another Crooner. And since both the Shaker and the Crooner are relatively low Tavern Tier minions for their power level, you don't need to aggressively level your Tavern to find them.
If they don't get all these pieces early enough, Deep Blue Crooner builds can have trouble surviving, but once they get going, few builds can match their stats.
