- Helldivers 2 players have been calling on developer Arrowhead to implement a transmog system.
- However, CEO Johan Pilestedt says that it'll never happen because it doesn't make sense.

The whirring propaganda of Super Earth has countless fresh-faced recruits dropping into dangerous enemy territory and dying within seconds as 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:unfathomably grotesque bugs rip their limbs apart. They usually look pretty cool while they're screaming in horror, their tattered cape gushing in the wind while their slick helmets mask the look of fear as they watch their own bones break.
Those who fare better often drop into the battle with stronger gear, but stronger gear doesn't always look as fashionable. So, the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Helldivers 2 community has been calling on developer Arrowhead to imple🥀ment a transmog system so that they can deploy in their coolest armou𝔍r without sacrificing defence, avoiding a one-two Terminid socket rip.
Transmog - or transmogrification - is a mechanic in which you 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:swap the appearance of your gear while retaining its stats.
"We are not doing transmog," Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt said, quickly shutting down the idea (as reported by ). "It doesn't make sense - equipment looks different because it has different effects. Swapping one for the other is like having an apple that tastes like bacon or the other way around."
What Does The Community Think?
Not everyone is happy with Pilestedt's justification, and one of the big reasons is that a lot of players don't think Helldivers 2's armour is distinctive enough to reflect the effects he mentions.
"I love Helldivers 2, but this is extremely stupid," @Electrocutie_ responded. "The armour does not look distinct enough that at a glance I know what perk someone has based on what they're wearing. Just restrict transmog to same weight class. Should not have to pick function over fashion."
"First bad take I've seen from the Helldivers devs," @Meelsie143 said. "I don't even want transmog I just want to make helmets match body armour and maybe have the option to make every set black and yellow but that's a bad justification like most of the armour doesn't communicate what its perk is at all."
"This would make sense if like half the armours didn't have the same rotating ten or so perk sets," @FemcelBingo added.
Regardless, it doesn't look like we're getting a transmog system anytime soon, so you'll have to decide whether to prioritise fashion or defence when representing Super Earth.
Helldivers 2 is the sequel to the third-person shooter from Arrowhead Game Studios. This time out, the Helldivers are deep in the Galactic War, and it's up to you to bring Managed Democracy to the masses.
