168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Helldivers 2 is 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:being dragged by its community right n🐟ow after myriad unsatisfactory updates and changes to the game from developer🔯 Arrowhead, tanking a reputation that saw it open 2024 as one of the biggest critical and commercial surprises in years.

But that monumental success can’t last forever, and eventually the hype dies down and even the biggest games oꦐf the moment settle into a status quo. One where a hardcore community sticks around as more casual players walk away, which is exactly what happened with many of the people who jumped into Helldivers 2 several months ago.

The Starship Troopers-inspired live service shooter peaked at 458,709 players on Steam at the height of its popularity, and that isn’t including the thousands more playing on PS5. Now it has settled for a smaller, but consistent, crowd, with roughly 20,000 players on PC at th🍸e time of writing, and I imagine the console version occupies similar space, as plenty of passionate players hold down the fort.

That’s why the voices complaining about its shortcomings right now are so loud, because they c🅘ome from people who love Helldivers 2 and want it to be the best game possible, so there is a reason to keep on playing. Without that, they too will leave it behind like I did. In spite of this steady audience, how💮ever, it is easy to find people online labelling Helldivers 2 as a dead game, or a colossal failure that fell out of vogue so fast that it needs to be taken into a lab and studied. I mean this in the nicest way possible. Please shut the hell up.

"Desolate wasteland"

It's still the same exact game. I don't understand. Nothing has changed. 50,000 people still play it daily.

Are you people delusional???

We shouldn’t be mocking a live service game when it drops beneath a certain threshold of players, acting like it’s failed to become successful when, in most cases, that’s utterly false. In fact, a consistent stream of games managing to attract and maintain tens of thousands of players is the ideal scenario for a lot of developers and communities. It allows content to be curated and updated at a regular rate in ways that react to what playꦯers want, rather than a game like Fortnite which throws everything at the wall hoping that something will stick.

I&rsquo♊;d take 100 games at▨ 20,000 players per day over a monopoly of just ten reaching peaks of 200,000.

Let’s take another look at SteamDB and some of the other titles similar to Helldivers 2 that pull in the ♌same kind of numbers. We wouldn’t dare label th✅ese as ‘dead games’

  • Valheim
  • Final Fantasy 14
  • Rimworld
  • Diablo 4
  • Destiny 2
  • Overwatch 2
  • Dead By Daylight
  • Rainbow Six Siege

The list goes on, and I honestly think &😼lsquo;dead game’ is a term that terminally online gamers love to throw around in order to earn a paltry bit of clout. We are🗹 inherently negative, as we love to see things crash and burn, so we can then lift the next big thing, champion it, and repeat the process all over again. It’s toxic nonsense, and I hate to see it happen to a game like Helldivers 2 that managed to capture the imagination of thousands for months. Yes, its time as The Big Game is over, but that doesn’t mean people aren’t still playing and cheering for it to do amazing things.

This is an industry where projects are cancelled left, right, and centre, while employees are constantly living in fear of unfair layoffs. But in the same breath, we loꦺve to lambast the games and studios that are not only being successful, but maintaining a steady audience?

People who throw ‘dead game’ around like a casual term need to get over themselves and realise what impact this sort of term has not only on the game in question, but the developers behind it. Helldivers 2 is going through a transitionꦰal period right now where active fans are begging Arrowhead to listen to feedback and make changes, but only because it’s well and truly alive, and those people want it to remain that wa🌼y for years to come.

Video games, or at least those who play them, are often spurred onward by negativity, so much so that as someone who covers them, it can sometimes be hard to stomach. But it’s also in our power to chase that percept𝕴ion and make it a better, more positive medium. At least in ways thܫat are realistic and tangible, so let’s do just that and stop saying something needs to be buried when it’s just getting started.
