Not only that, but Arrowhead has also gifted every player in the game a "Fallen Hero's Vengeance" cape that you can wear into battle to "carry the memory of their fallen companions into battle". It should be ready and waiting for you when you log in today, if you haven't already, though be aware there are reports of people not actually getting the rewards for liberating Malevelon Creek, and that it might take a little while to show up.
Now that the Malevelon Creek saga is finally over, players can get back to fighting on the more important fronts, though it's pretty great how players held such a deep love for the Creek that the whole affair has now managed to actually affect established Helldivers 2 lore.
