Summary

  • Arrowhead has finally managed to give Helldivers 2 players the MD-17 Anti-Tank Mines stratagem, but they're not going down as well as hoped.
  • Players are now complaining about the effectiveness of the mines, the damage they deal, and how they don't actually function like anti-tank mines.
  • It's another point of contention for Arrowhead to deal, as the studio is receiving some backlash over the Escalation of Freedom patch.

If you've been playing 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Helldivers 2 for a while, you'll probably be aware of the running joke surrounding the recently released MD-17 Anti-Tank Mines stratagem. Arrowhead has been trying to give these things away for a while now, as every time players have been given the choice between them and something else, something else always won out.

In April, fans were given the choice between the mines and the RL-77 Airburst Rocket Launcher (no prizes for guessing which won), while Arrowhead tried to give them away again in May if players killed 2 billion Automatons. Of course, they failed miserably, forcing Arrowhead to give players the choice between the mines and a bunch of imaginary children in June, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:only for the children to win the vote, cementing the stratagem as a meme among the c🌳ommunity.

Well, it seems as though Arrowhead finally had enough of the community dodging the mines they had worked so hard on, as the game's latest Major Order tasked them with killing 1.5 billion enemies. If they failed, they'd have the mines forced upon them, and there was only one outcome of that Major Order considering Arrowhead gave players a four-day deadline. That brings us up to now, as players walk onto the battlefield with anti-tank mines in hand.

Unfortunately for players, these mines seem to be pretty rubbish. criticizing the anti-tank mines has exploded in popularity, calling the stratagem "as worthless as we all expected." One of the biggest complaints appears to be that these mines don't function like anti-tank mines at all, and will explode if literally anything steps on them, regardless of their weight.

Other people are complaining about the mines not doing enough damage to heavy armor, as one person describes taking down a Hulk as needing up to four mines before it's down, while user Pikmonwolf is also irritated by the stratagem's "unnecessarily long 3 minute mine cooldown." Both of those combined, you can begin to see why so many players feel they're underwhelming despite such a build up.

These anti-tank mines wouldn't be so bad on their own, but they're also unfortunately contributing to a bit of pushback against Arrowhead over the game's latest patch. The Escalation of Freedom was billed as the big shake up to the game, though 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the nerfs to the flamethrower and otheꦗr weapons have soured fans on the entire thing, and these anti-tank mines are just adding to Arrowhead's current problems.
