Hello Games 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:is making a new game. It's apparently "huge," with British name doppelganger and  very little about the upcoming title besides the anxiety it brings out in the team when they consider how much backlash they got for 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:No Man's Sky.

“That was a very, very hard process and I woul♎dn’💎t want to put anyone through that again,” he told the publication, and we certainly believe him. No Man's Sky was the butt of nearly every gamer joke for well over a year after its release, and the hype letdown was so immense that Hello Games .

But they persevered. Years later, No Man's Sky is 🧸considered to be an indie triumph having finally delivered on all of its promises and so much more. It's a redemption arc in gaming unlike any other, with Murr♚ay and Hello Games saying they've learned their lesson when it comes to ambitious games.

And now, they're working on a new ambitious game. Can we 🐠trust Hello Games' messaging 🌺this time around? Maybe. Let's review how Hello Games got here, then decide based on the facts.

The Hype Train Derails

No Man's Sky was originally announced at VGC 2013. At the time, Sony was taking a much greater interest in ind🌳ie studios and thought that the ambitious title would make a good fit for the recently released PS4. Hello Games was coincidentally also looking 🧔for a publisher, so the two shacked up in 2014 as a match made in gaming heaven. Sony pumped tons of money into Hello Games while also managing the marketing side of things. No Man's Sky even took the main stage at Sony's E3 conference in 2014 with an incredible trailer that got the entire world excited for this ambitious indie space game.

This is sort of where things went off the rails for No Man's Sky and Hello Games. In marketing and in interviews with CEO Sean Murray, Hello Games made a lﷺot of claims for what No Man's Sky would be capable of on release day, and a lot of those claims didn't really pan out. Hello Games was initially a studio of just six people that eventually grew to 16 over the course of No Man's Sky's development, but even working long hours to get the game ready by 2016, there was just no way they could live up to the expectations they'd set for themselves.

When No Man's🅺 Sky released in August 2016, ꦦit was a shell of the game promised. Most of the features that fans were excited about such as space battles, open market trading, and multiplayer were completely absent. Worse, the game was a bug-ridden mess with poor optimization for both PC and PS4 and so many game-ending crashes that considered No Man's Sky to be totally unplayable.

The backlash was swift and severe, and for two years, nobody could even say the 𝓰name No Man's Sky without a snicker or a sneer.

But then, something unexpected happened. Where most larger games publishers would merely 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:blame the players, 168澳🔯洲幸运5开奖网:get the game to a minimum viable state, and then 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:move on to the next project, Hello Games didn't do that. Instead, they went completely radio silent for months on end. When they finally did come back, it was with a patch to fix much of what was broken about No Man's Sky. And then another patch. And then another. And then promised features were added, and then more patches were made, and then yet more prom🐠ised features☂ were added again.

It wasn't without missteps, but Hello Games finished building No Man's Sky over the course of two years. By 2018 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:multiplayer was finally added, and by 2019 No Man's Sky relaunched itself as 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:No Man's Sky Beyond, a massive free ♔update that delivered on every promise Hello Games ever made. They even added VR support.

By this time, the story surrounding No Man's Sky had completely flipped. Fans weren't angry with Hello Games--they were actually buying billboards THANKING Hello Games for their tireless effort.

And Hello Games never stopped. Throughout 2020 they've been putting out free update after free update that adds all-new content from 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:giant mech suits to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:biological ships to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:alien-infested derelicts.

Today, No Man's Sky is considered one of the greatest games ever made by some, more than worthy of all the hype it received before launch. Someone even made a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:pornographic fan fiction of Hello Games’ CEO in appreciation.

But Should You Trust Them?

Actions speak louder t🎃han words, and Hello Games spoke loud and clear through their actions. They could have charged money for all the updates they pushed out for No Man’s Sky, but they didn’t. They gave them all away for free because they’d made promises for a AAA-quality game. Those promises were all kept.

It was certainly a rocky road and Murray has admi🃏tted . We’re not likely to see Sony making flashy trailers or Murray being so open about potential in-game features in his next interview.

And it’s safe to say that fans of No Man’s Sky have also learned their lesson. T🌳his was a years-long journey filled with di൲sappointment, rage, anger, and eventually surprise and even joy. Not many people would willingly climb aboard another rollercoaster of emotion like that.

Whatever Hello Games makes next, the marketing♊ won’t be the same as No ♍Man’s Sky. It’ll be restrained, and above all, respectful of people’s expectations. That’s something you can trust.

But,🐓🥀 uh, I still wouldn’t pre-order. ‘Cause, well... y’know.
