In fact, he says that he no longer considers game development to be work. In a message on social media, Kojima says, "That's why there is no retirement. Creating things is living", strongly suggesting that the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Death Stranding director has no plans to leave the industry anytime soo💞n.
"The reason why I am independent and advocate a life-long career is because for me, 'creating things' is no longer a job," says Kojima. "That's why there is no retirement. Creating things is living."
Kojima also opens up on his initial decision to leave larger companies to form his own, saying that he didn't have much support from others in the industry at the time.
"When I started my own company, I was opposed by everyone, including my peers, colleagues, and relatives, who said, 'It will never work!'," he says. "They said it was impossible without the financial and organizational strength of a company. However, someone must prove that that is an old-fashioned way of thinking."
Of course, Kojima went into his independent outings with experience in triple-A development, a lot of industry contacts, and perhaps most importantly, name power. Kojima Productions went independent after Kojima had spent around 30 years with Konami, best known for his work on the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Metal Gear Solid games. Infamously, the two had a very bitter breakup, resulting in his leaving the company in 2015. Since then, Kojima has run his own company, helped by securing a partnership with Sony right out of the gate.
Now, it looks like we can expect to see Kojima work on new projects for some time. He and his team already have a lot on their plate, with hiﷺs latest game, OD, just revealed at The Game Awards. Aside from that, we also have Death Stranding 2 on the way, as well as a film adaptation of the first game in partnership with🌳 A24.
