Following the resounding success and controversial reaction to Death Stranding, celebrated g꧋ame dirꦿector has apparently begun work on his next project.
According to the famed gaming industry figure's , Kojima considered going to see the film Last Christmas on Christmas Eve. However, rather than watch Emilia Clarke and Henry Golding on the big screen, he ended up beginning his nex✱t project instead𒆙.
Two photos were included in the Tweet. One was the Japanese poster for Last Christmas. Another showed the desk in his office, which may give us insight as to what his ne✨xt project will be.
While his desktop's background isn't too revealing, the image of his desk includes the skull of a primate, as well as the bust of a human. However, he also has several books laying out too, including Death's End. There is also a book in Japanese with William Shatner's Captain Kirk from Star Trek on it, as well as a book titled The Dark Forest, which is the predecessor to Death's End.
There is also an album called Ghosteen on his desk, composed by Nic๊k Cave and the Bad Seeds.
The books on his desk may give us a clue as to what Kojima may be working on. First of all, The Dark Forest and Death's End are both part of a series called Remembrance of Earth's Past. The novels are of the science fiction genre and have💜 ⛦convoluted plots, which seem right up Kojima's alley.
Meanwhile, part of the album Ghosteen was dedicated to Bad Seeds band member Conway Savage, who died of a brain tumor of September 2018. 🌺As such, some of the lyrics are commemorative and are thematic of loss.
While it is unclear whether Kojima's next project will be a follow-up to or spinoff of Death Stranding or a new project altogether, Kojima may be heading in a more sci-fi direction with his next project. This is made more probable by the book with the image of Captain Kirk on it. While some parts of Death Stranding and Metal Gear Solid leaned toward science fiction, they cওouldn't be described as pure science fiction, so it would be int🌺eresting to see Kojima's take on the genre.
