She might have tweaked the color scheme, but new AEW Women's Champion was definitely paying tribute to FFVII's Tifa at Double or Nothing.

Video games and professional wrestling have a relationship that spans the past few decades. A relationship that is stronger today than it ever has been in the past. Yes, some might argue that last year's has done irreparable damage to the bond gaming and wrestling share, but we're try🉐ing to look at💟 the bigger picture here.

There are plenty of professional wrestlers who game and even have their own channels on Twitch and Mixer in some cases; Asuka, Xavier Woods, AJ Styles, and Adam Cole, are just a few of these cases. AEW's Kenny Omega also doesn't try to hide the fact that he is an avid gamer, as is evident from some of the gear he has worn to the ring thr🥃oughout his career.

Omega isn't the only wrestler in AEW to have taken that route recently, either. The fledgling promotion staged one of its biggest PPVs of the year on Saturday night, Double or Nothing. During the show, Nyla Rose was tasked with defending the Women's Championship against Hikaru Shida. Rose should have known her days as champion were ꦚnumbered after taking one look at Shida on her way to the ring.

That's due to the fact Shida was clearly cosplaying as Tifa from 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy VII. Yes, she went with a red and black motif, but it was still plain to see the Japanese star's outfit was inspired by Midgar's favorite brawler. The kicks and strikes Shida used in the ring were also reminiscent of something 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:FFVII: Remake players might have found familiar to a battl🥀e 🦹scene involving Tifa.

That paired with a few strikes from a kendo stick (it was a no disqualification match) clinched the win for Shida. It's her first time as AEW Women's Champion and we hope to see her bring more FFVII characters to life during her title run.
