Since Hitman III's recent preview, players have been going over everything seen thus far about the game. While the third installment looks to continue and improve upon the series' trade🍬mark silent ass🔯assin and espionage gameplay, there is one element that is irking some fans: the title.

The third Hitman iteration in the reboot series uses roman numerals in "Hitman III" whereas 2017's second Hitman game used a digit in "Hitman 2."

This fact was🍒 pointed 🐷out by in a tweet by VG247 Deputy Editor Kirk McKeand.

Most game series stick to one type of naming conventions. Often, sequels will either stick with regular, old-fashioned digits or go with Roman numerals. ♏Each successive sequel will likely continue the pattern.

For instance, Rockstar Games' Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Theft Auto series both go with Roman numerals while Uncharted went with digits for its sequels.

Hitman III i🧔s clearly bꦓucking the trend of consistency, and maybe for worse for some folks.

While Hitman III disappoints in its title, the trailer for the next-gen successor shows a lot of promise. Although not the highlight of the Future of Gaming PS5 reveal, Hitman III's cinematic tra🐎iler can tide over some fans for now until the game's🃏 January 2021 launch. Perhaps, before then, we'll see a title change.
