The Hitman games are essentially stealth games where players take on assassination missions. The latest games in the series are probably best known for the wacky costumes that players can dress the titular Hitman up in to avoid detection by guards. The series is also often praised for the uniquely open-ended structure of the games' level design and the depth of the interactive systems in the games, including the AI for the non-player characters. The series, specifically the two most recent games, are also filled with episodic content with new maps and special events being added frequently. In addition to new maps, the Hitman team also adds new Elusive targets, which are unique assassinatioཧnꦿ victims that players have a limited number of chances to find and take out.
