168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Hollow Knight's sprawling world is inhabited by a unique range of tribes and groups that claim home to the many different areas of Hallownest. But though it's easy to see how they all imprint their own culture onto their surroundings, as with the game's cryptic narrative, deciphering their lore and history is no easy task.
However, there's much more to discover beneath the surface than is offered by the brief codex entries of these bugs within the Hunter's Journal. Even the most unassuming hold surprising cultures and stories, though their societies have crumbled along with most of the underground empire. Having a deeper understanding of their backstories and rivalries helps to understand just how doomed The Pale King's central mission to unite Hallownest really was.
10 🌳 The Mantis Tribe
The Mantis Tribe are ruthless defenders of their village found down in the Fungal Waste. Though unlike most of the other bugs that mindlessly attack The Knight, they're exempt from the zombifying sickness of the Radiance. This immunity has helped solidify their long reign which still incorporates traditions that even predate Hallownest.
They're easily one of the proudest groups around, but show deep respect for any bug that is capable of defeating the leading Mantis Lords in combat by granting them free passage through their Village. This pride kept the ancient race from welcoming the founding of Hallownest, though a truce was arranged to allow them to hold onto their long-kept dominion of their territory in turn for enforcing a defense against the vicious creatures of Deepnest at their borders. They were also forced to vanquish Edler Hu after he was driven mad by the radiance and thought them to be infected instead
9 ဣ The Scholars ღ
Lingering high above in the upper lofts of The City of Tears is a cursed place that hides a mirky past. Here in the Soul Sanctum wait the onc☂e highly intelligent Scholars, who sought to attain pure focus of the mind. Though they used to live in servitude to the kingdom, the spread of the Infection led to them desperately experimenting with Souls in search of a cure and committing atrocious sins in the process.
They fooled themselves into believing consuming souls would awaken the potential of immortality and cut off ties with the Pale King. In reality, their minds had been unknowingly corrupted by the Infection despite their efforts. In the madness, their soul experiments escalated but successes were far and few, with many deformed in the process into Follies and Mistakes. The Soul Master still rules over the area, putting🎐 up a consideꦛrable fight to cling to a false promise of immortality. Though the Scholars survived the fall of Hallownest, their exploits came at a great cost to their own ✃ranks and resulted in genocide beyond them.
8 𓂃 The Moth Tribe
While other bugs grew obsessed with surpassing their physical attributes, the ancient Moth Tribe discovered a way to harness and manipulate dreams. They owe their existence to the Radiance who's light transcended the spiritual realm and granted them life in the physical world. This naturally led to a life of worship, but they eventually turned their devotion to the Pale King upon its arrival. Slowly but surely they forgot about the Radiance, whose ties to the physical world were consequentially cut.
Though their culture is largely humble and obtrusive, there have been few to follow down a warrior's path such as Thistlewind and Markoth. For the most part, though, the tribe acted as caretakers of the graves found throughout the Resting Grounds. There exists the sole survivor of the race, The Seer, who rescues The Knight when the Dreamers attempted to seal it away somewhere in a forgotten dream. After then helping The Knight slowly infuse the Dream Nail to its brink, she too fades away into Essence, thus signaling the end of her kind.
7 The Godseekers 💝
Unlike the other inhabitants of Hallownest, the Godseekers are not native to the area but come from the distant 𝓰Land of Storms. After their original gods there died, or perhaps left them 🐬behind, they journeyed from land to land in search of new ones through the help of a tuning device. This device allowed them to hone into the resonance omitted by higher beings from far away.
However, their entire society somehow merged to exist solely within the mind of a single individual, with this power being passed down over time. One such leading Godseeker was attracted by the lingering resonance of the dead Pale King, before hoping to attune to the Radiance instead. It hopes to accomplish this by first ascending the essence of other powerful bugs to Godhome. There, the Godseekers observe the fights of such bugs in the pantheons and gain the ability to commune with progressively more powerful beings. This process is accelerated by The Knight's involvement in their ascension ritual, but it ultimately does not lead to a happy ending for their kind.
6 🌜 💟 The Mosskin Tribe
These plant-like bugs that inhabit Greenpath are the product of Unn, a higher being, who dreamed them into existence along with the lush vegetation that is omnipresent in the area. At least this is the long-held belief of the Mosskin, shown through lore tablets and alike. These creatures live in harmony with all the greenery to such an extent that they wrap themselv🅺꧑es in moss and leaves to appear larger.
The Mosskin are so indebted to Unn that they aim to one day return to his dream, though its power is not what it once was and it has retreated from its lake where they held worship. The Mosskin were gracious enough to allow the Pale King to build roads through their domain but stated any who strayed from them would be subject to Unn's laws. Eventually, this hostility increased as the Radiance took advantage of their frustration over their god's disappearance. Under her spell, they believe the gardens to be falling and will indiscriminately defend them from any intruders.
5 🉐 The Spider Tribe 💎
Little is known about the Spider Tribe beyond their reputation for possessing high intelligence and being deeply opposed to the Pale King's rule. Found in Deepnest, they were led by Herrah the Beast who, despite violently ceasing the construction of the King's tramways in their territory, was eventually persuaded into becoming a Dreamer in hopes of halting the Infection.
Herrah's efforts were made in vain though, as her followers continued to succumb to sickness including the entirety of their brood. The Weavers, who had come from afar, decided to abandon Hallownest in the end. However, one has stayed behind and can be briefly spotted after retrieving the Weaversong Charm from their otherwise abandoned den. Expect to see more of them in Silksong as they're deeply connected to Hornet's origins, though the sequel will likely reinvent a lot of Hollow Knight's core gameplay.
4 The Bees
Underneath Kingdom's Edge reside the Bees in a hive bristling with activity. These simple creatures communicate through a hivemind and seem relatively unphased by the going on's of the outside world. However, they too were marked by devastating tragedy, when their Queen died and their world fell silent without her guiding voice.
Vespa can still be seen deep within their nest, her ginormous body dominating the background of different areas. So expansive was her size, that the Queen was rendered incapable of leaving the hive. In fact, the bees afflicted by the Infection carry on clueless of her demise and attack any trespassers on sight in the belief that they're protecting her.
3 𒈔 The Snail Shamans
One of the more mysterious tribes of Hallownest, the spell-dabbling Snail Shamans hold no land but carry out reclusive lives in mounds that are tucked away throughout the Kingdom. And though unassuming at first glance, they're capable of crafting charms and remain infused with their spell prowess even in death. This is shown by how The Knight is able to improve its abilities vi🀅a absorbing energy from their remains.
Unfortunately, it seems their mastery of spells and souls attracted dangerous minds as the Infection broke out, with at least one captured Shaman being forcibly experimented upon by the Scholars. This perhaps explains why only one living Shaman is encountered by The Knight, who remains clueless to the wider downfall of its kin. It's suggested that they become inseparable from their mounds, perhaps ingrained on a spiritual level far greater than their physical presence.
2 The Mantis Traitors ꧅
An offshoot of the Mantis Tribe, the Mantis Traitors are made up of outcasts from their proud ranks. They're led by the Traitor Lord, who is the brother to the three sisters that he once ruled alongside. However, he grew a disdain for his siblings and embraced the Infection that the tribe is perfectly capable of resisting. This granted him and his followers increased strength that they so lusted after, but eventually robbed them of their wits.
They then attempted to lay claim to the largely abandoned Queen's Gardens. Their attempts to usurp the White Lady from her realm though were fraughted by the Great Knight Dryya who was her sworn protector. From here on the tribe continued to exist only through violently territorial instincts, so had the infection developed. They continue to inhabit parts of the Gardens, but some were also attracted to the Colosseum of Fools where they keep similar company with other bugs who lust after strength.
1 The Mushroom Clan 🎀
Though Hallownest is primarily occupied by bugs, these sentient fungi sh🍷ow not all life in this world follows the same path. Found in the Fungal Wastes, the Mushroom Clan communicates similarly to the Bees through one collective thought process. While they are territorial against the ⭕denizens of Deepnest who push at their borders, the clan did respect the reign of the Pale King.
Cut content shows that at least one Fung꧋al Warrior was originally planned to be an NPC with whom The Knight could interact. However, in the final cut, their kind possesses no means of communicating to outsiders and they are also driven hostile by the Infection. Within the Fungal Core, a giant mushroom creature can be found, which may have been a leader or god to them. It's suggested that the traveling Mister Mushroom is worshipped by them now.
