168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Horizon Forbidden West and its predecessor 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Zero Dawn share many similarities, a lot of which were carried over from the first game without much alteration. Where games like 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Dark Pictures exist where it isn't necessary to play every installment, Forbidden West is the type of game that can quickly become confusing if it's your first entry into the series.

Now, this isn't to say you can't catch up and understand the general premise that's being set up, but there will be things that only players of the previous game will notice. Storylines and characters are a significant part of the continuity of the Horizon games, and it's surprising just how much connects to the tale woven in Horizon Zero Dawn.

8 Clone Of Elisabet Sob🐓eck

Horizon: Forbidden West, Elisabet Sobeck character information screen.

Throughout Forbidden West, it's constantly referenced how Aloy is the clone of Elisabet Sobeck. Still, it can be tricky to remember everything surrounding the two characters, whether you're a new player to the series or if it's been a while since your playthrough of the original game. Aloy is the clone of Elisabet Sobeck, being an almost exact match to how Elisabet looks, though Aloy is alive 1,000 years in the future from Elisabet.

Because of the genetic code of Aloy, she can open locked doors that others can't, and with her focus (often referenced as second sight), she can see hidden details that others would miss. There's a lot behind the story of the two characters, but Aloy is a lot more than just a clone, with skills and traits that are inherently her own.

7 The Scope Of Zero Dawn ൩

Project Zero Dawn is the core focus of the similarly named game, Horizon Zero Dawn, which plays out as both origins of the character of Aloy and her quest to resolve the current problem of seemingly infected, aggressive machines. While playing Forbidden West without prior knowledge of the story, it isn't easy to follow along, what with all the mention of Zero Dawn, HADES, GAIA, and so on. There's simply so much to track as the story progresses.

The main thing you need to know is that Project Zero Dawn was created to restore Earth and its broken ecosystem, which continues to be fixed in the Forbidden West. Where the first game follows a more simplistic quest, the sequel really puts the pressure on Aloy's shoulders, making the scope of Zero Dawn all the more remarkable.

6 Massively Improved Sk🔯ill Tr🐭ee

The skill tree of Zero Dawn is a lot more diluted than the heavily expansive one we see in Forbidden West. Of course, more skills and choices don't necessarily mean a better skill tree, but 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the options in Forbidden West are certainly more useful in battle than in the previous gam🅘e. Instead of a smaller tree with only a few upgrades, there are now just under 30 skills in each of the six sections.

Some of the best places to put your points are the Hunter and Infiltrator tabs, as they will help with ranged attacks, Aloy's stamina, and keeping enemies unaware of your location while in stealth.

5 Behind The Nor꧟a Legacy Outfit ꦰ

Taking the role of mentor and father figure, Rost taught Aloy everything she knows about hunting and machines, teaching her how to survive and stand up for herself. Early on in Zero Dawn, Rost sacrifices himself to save Aloy, which brings upon the main story of the game and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Aloy's progression as꧑ the savior of Meridian. Rost is mentioned numerous times in both games, but one of the most admirable sentiments is the Nora Legacy outfit available in Forbidden West.

The outfit is a mix between Aloy's classic Nora outfit, and the one Rost is shown to wear in the first game, becoming a dedication to the life and legacy of the character and Aloy's love for him.

4 🐓 Significance Of Talln𒁃ecks

Horizon: Forbidden West Aloy riding a Tallneck, retrieving data from them.

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Tallnecks are one of the most recognizable properties of the Horizon franchise, but without playing the first game and jumping straight into its sequel, you might not know the significance of these machines. Unlike most of the other machines in the game, Tallnecks won't attack you and instead walk around a specific area (often conveniently next to a tall structure you can climb to reach the top of the machine), and when overridden, provide you with a map of the surrounding area.

This map will reveal places of interest like Relic Ruins, unknown areas marked with a question mark on your map, and other areas to investigate. When entering a new site, don't forget to override the Tallneck in that location as your first step.

3 💖 Return Of The Eclipse

Horizon: Forbidden West, return of The Eclipse. Photo of Aloy looking distressed.

Acting as the main threat alongside HADES in the first game, The Eclipse makes their reappearance in a side quest that begins when you speak to a prisoner near the exit gates to Barren Light. At first, it's uncertain whether The Eclipse has made a return or if the prisoner lied about them to save his own life, but shortly after you happen upon a hideout, proving the group is attempting to reassemble.

Showing up in a side quest and not as a considerable part of the main quest means that some people may not even come across The Eclipse scenario, but if they do, it can be a little confusing for those unfamiliar with the first game. The side mission does just enough explaining so new players can at least understand Aloy's disapproval of the group, but it never goes into too much detail about anything else.

2 Ne꧟w And Returning Optional Quests

Horizon: Forbidden West Hunting Grounds challenge complete.

Horizon Zero Dawn has its fair share of side quests and optional things to complete, most of which also appear in the sequel. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Hunting Grounds are one of the main optional quests, providing challenges for unique ways to take down machines. The Hunting Grounds also appear in Forbidden West, though with more variation on the challenges offered. However, one of the newest additions to Forbidden West is 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the mini-game known as Strike, a tactical board game where you aim to reach seven points before your opponent does.

The game requires skill, patience, and vast knowledge of how Strike works. There are also 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the Cauldrons that existed in Zero Dawn, but they have more content this time around, and there are🐼 more of them to complete.

1 Sylens And His Ties With Aloy ൩

Horizon: Forbidden West Sylens Character bio screen.

Sylens' and Aloy's past is complicated since he assisted Aloy through her focus several times in the first game. The reason for this was that both Sylens and Aloy were fighting for similar causes but had very different approaches to these causes, creating an alliance made out of necessity rather than trust. During the final moments of Zero Dawn and the opening ones of Forbidden West, Sylens is revealed to have betrayed Aloy, ensuring that HADES lives on.

This act creates a lot of tens☂ion between the two characters, although Sylens assisting Aloy continues throughout the sequel. At first glance of an outing into Forbidden West, it ma൩y not seem like Sylens was all too prominent a character in Zero Dawn. However, he played a crucial role, often acting as deuteragonist to Aloy.
