The new game has debuted to largely positive reviews from the various gaming publications, signaling a marked improvement over the already wel🧜l-received original. However, some things are a little strange when you take a closer look.

Despite 168澳洲幸运5𒊎开奖网:working out some of the kinks and criticis🔯ms that were thrown at the previous entry, the very premise of the first game had most gamers scratching their heads going into it. Now, the new one looks to up the ante with some strange story beats and questionable mechanics. Here are just a few of the things that don't make much sense in Horizon Forbidden West.

5 💮 Aloy Can Glide Almost Indefinitely ꩵ

When gameplay for Horizon Forbidden West was first revealed, one of the new mechanics that immediately caught players' eyes was the introduction of a paraglider. Known as the Shieldwing, the glider pretty much functions the same way as ꧅the one from The Legend of Zelda: Brea💫th of the Wild, letting Aloy glide through the air while travers🐭ing the landscape and taking in the sceꦏnery.

But unlike the glider from Breath of the Wild, the one in Horizon Forbidden West doesn't drain Aloy's stamina while it is in use. This means she can effectively glide through huge portions of the map without tiring or losing her grip. While this might make sense from a convenience point of view, it's a little odd when you think about it - must be though to hold on for that long.

4 ෴ Cli🐼mbing Can Still Feel Very Restricted

Another new mechanic♔ in Horizon Forbidden West is the ability to climb more freely over walls and obstacles. For context, in the first game, Aloy could barely scale the lowest of heights before being stopped by an invisible wall, and was limited to dedicated ledges and ropes. This meant traversal with🍷in that game was severely limited by design.

In Horizon Forbidden West though, players have been given the newfound freedom to scale many of the obstacles they encounter. Aloy can now climb over surfaces with agility similar to the protagonists in the various Assassin's Creed games. Except this is often restricted to certain, predetermined areas and paths, much like there are in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the Uncharted games. So anyone going into the game expecting the ꦐsame freeform climbing that was seen in Breath of the Wild would bꦛe surprised by just how restricted this one still can be.

3 Aloy's Contextual Hints Can Be Overbearing

One way modern video games have tried to make themselves more accessible without breaking the fourth wall is by employing contextual hints in the form of character monologues. This usually happens when the character is close to a point of interest. Rather than leave you to stumble across whatever surprises the game's developers might have placed in the area, the game nudges them in the right direction by having the character make a remark about the area.

In Horizon Forbidden West, it happens quite frequently. It is hard for players to travel any considerable distance within the game without Aloy chiming in with some interesting facts like an overenthusiastic tour guide, or a potential solution for a puzzle within the area. What's stranger yet is the fact that the same bit of dialogue get repeated each time she enters the area. For her first time in the Forbidden West, Aloy sure seems to know a lot about the area.

2 A🔥loy Can Fast Travel While Underwater

In Horizon Zero D🦄awn, the only way players could fast travel was by first crafting a fast travel pack. Thankfully, the system has been tweaked somewhat in Horizon Forbidden West. You are now able to fast travel from any campfire without needing to use a fast travel pack, but one is still requir🔴ed if you plan on fast traveling while out in the wild.

Strangely enough, you can also fast travel while you are deep underwater. It doesn't even matter if they were mere moments away from drowning. Once a fast travel pack is used, the screen dips to black, and you get magically teleported to the selected destination after a brief loading screen. At least in Breath of the Wild Link is shown getting beamed up from the current location, with very little left to the imagination.

1 🉐 The Forbidden West Is Not So Forbidden After All

A screenshot showing Aloy riding past old ruins in Horizon Forbidden West

Horizon Forbidden West has Aloy leading a group of fellow warriors into the titular Forbidden West, on a quest to find the source of a mysterious plague. From the get-go, the place is presented as a sort of no man's land where none of the tribes dare go. Except as you soon find out, there are plenty of other tribes and settlements on that side of the world that just go about their own life.

This brings to question just how valid those claims were. Perhaꦐps the Sundom were not so accurate in their declaration of the west being forbiꦇdden, or just how dangerous the tribes out there really are. What else could they have lied about, or been unaware of?
