However, if blood, guts, and gore aren't up your alley, then your options can seem very slim. Countless horror titles are🌳 filled with gruesome scenes that are hard to forget.
However, you're not entirely out of luck! If games that don't shy away from the more grisly details aren't your style, then don't despair. Horror isn't all about blood and guts, and we've curated a few particularly excellent horror games that do a great job of proving it.
10 Little Nightmares 𝓡
In this game, you start as a tiny person in a big world and 168澳洲幸运5开奖🌺网:your goal is to make your way through ꦏit. Dodge the hands grabbing for you or hide under cupboards — your size is actually boon that helps you evade the giant beings out to get you. There are no messy consequences if you're captured. Fail to get away in time and the worst you can expect is to be clutched in a giant fist, or something to that effect. What happens next is left to your imagination.
9 🤪 Hello Neighbor
Don't let the vibrant and friendly style of this neighborhood fool you. There's something strange happening at the house across the street and it's your job to investigate. You'll have to be stealthy because the guy that lives there will run after you if he finds you snooping around.
When he catches you, the screen will turn black and you'll find yourself climbing out of his basement. The lack of gore almost makes this game scarier, especially when coupled with the anxiety-inducing music that plays when you're chased.
8 ❀ A𒀰lien: Blackout
In this mobile game, you play as Amanda (Ellen Ripley's daughter, for you Alien fans), who is hiding in the vents when a ship's unaware crew docks at Mendel Station after a Xenomorph incursion. Ripley must convince them of the danger they're in. Keep an eye on the Xenomorph and tell the crew when to hide. If you fail and they're killed, then you'll hear their screams and the horrified comments from survivors. There isn't a clear view of their horrible fate from the vents, so the gore is largely just implied.
7 ꦐ Blair Witch 💟
Follow ex-police officer Ellis Lynch into Black Hills Forest on his search for a missing boy. Blair Witch is a game focused on survival. It uses psychological horror to create a sense of uncertainty and self-doubt. Try to retain your sanity and work through hallucinations and lapses in time. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Accompanied by your dog companion, you must face your fears and escape the woods. This game uses jumpscares and a tense atmosphere to scare the player inste🔜ad of graphic vi𝓡suals or gratuitous bloodshed.

Layers Of Fear
Puzzle-solving and exploration will take you through the mansion of a disturbed painter obsessed with finishing his work. This psychological horror will have you searching for clues in the environment and watching the mansion shift before your eyes. As you 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:try to unearth this painter's past you'll come across frequent jumpscares that are ready to catch you off guard whilst you're immersed in the sinister atmosphere. Layers Of Fear is filled with slamming doors and half-glimpsed shadows that frighten the player without any need for gore.
5 Phasmophobia 🌞
To catch the ghosts in this game you'll need steady nerves — these spirits don't hold back. Phasmophobia allows groups of friends to explore haunted locations together. Thanks to the one-year anniversary update, you can now play in single-player mode.
168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Solo ghost hunting can be a s🎐carier experience as there's nobody to watch your back. Prepare for your fair share of jump scares and creepy whispers that'll have goosebumps rising. If a ghost does get you then you'll become a spirit yourself, leaving the house you came to investigate even more h𒊎aunౠted.
4 The Forest 🍷
After your plane goes down and your son Timmy is taken, you are the only other survivor. Make shelter, forage, and build tools in order to stay alive and find your son. This game isn't just about surviving the elements, however. You'll find that you're sharing the island with terrifying mutants that are out to have you for dinner. Fighting them is optional, and they can be dismembered if attacked in normal gameplay. However, peaceful mode removes the cannibals, leaving you to just fight against the wilderness if you prefer. The hauntingly remote locale has a creepiness al♎l its own, so it still makes for quite an eerie experience.
3 ꧃ At Dead Of Night
In this point-and-click game, you'll play as Maia, who is staying at The Sea View Hotel. The proprietor, Jimmy, is attacking the other guests — and according to the hotel's resident ghosts, it's not the first time. Travel through hotel corridors and look for items of interest whilst communicating through the spirit box. Jimmy and his baseball bat are happy to knock you out and leave you with no items. Plenty of violence is hinted at, yet scenes are cut off before the player can see anything too gruesome.
2 Limbo
In an ominous colorless landscape you must navigate puzzles and obstacles in your path. There are numerous ways to die in this game, from falling to drowning — or even being impaled by a giant spider leg. None of these horrible ends are particularly gory due to the Limbo being black and white, and there's no startling splash of red blood to be seen.
Whilst the consequences of failing in this game are jarring, they aren't unbearable to watch. When hit or thrown your character will simply flop like a ragdoll and you are spared the gruesome details.
1 Among The S🍸leep
Among The Sleep sees you play as a toddler and go on adventures at night alongside your unsettling talking teddy bear. References to alcohol and domestic abuse appear to have a subconscious effect on the fantasy worlds you explore. The vulnerability of being a child in a confusing world builds up a sense of discomfort and uncertainty before the monster is introduced. There's no violence or gore, only the unshakable feeling of danger lurking out of view and the false safety of a child's perspective.
