Rachel and Eric Run From Dar: Eric
The sce🎉ne opens with Rachel and Eric attempting to escape Dar, the Iraqi soldier, who is chasing them. With few options left to them, they grab some old rope and pass across a very narrow ledge.
Unfortunately, an earthquake sends Rachel tumbling down towards the chasm. The pair manage to get a rope tied around Rachel's waist, but she keeps falling until she's just hanging over the edge. Eric desperately tries to hold her up with a few quick-time events, but failing them has no consequence; Rachel always falls off the ledge.
Eric realizes that 🗹the noise will cause Dar to discover their location and that Rachel's wei🐭ght is dragging him down with her. You're given a quick-time event to cut the rope that's connecting you to Rachel.
- Quick-Time Event Is Succeeded: Eric cuts the rope, Rachel falls into the chasm, the Until Death Bearing is updated, and the Curator scene begins

The Curator
Now that you've made it a significant way into the game, the Curator shows up to comment on your progress. He talks about Eric and Rachel, then Jason and Nick, th𒉰en Merwin, then Salim. The things he says are determined based on your choices and the characters' relationship levels with one a♏nother
After a few ominous comments, he asks if you'd like some words of advice and you can respond with silence, yes, or no.
- Yes: The Curator's advice is: "Long is the way and hard, that out of Hell leads up to the Light." This is a quote by John Milton from his book, Paradise Lost.
- No: The Curator says that you will be the only one to blame if something goes wrong.
