The Houston Outlaws announced they have parted ways with off tank Alexandre "SPREE" Vanhomwegen after almost three seasons with the team. Spree has⭕n't had an opportunity to play this season and is now a free agent while the Houston Out🐭laws prepare for the upcoming Countdown Cup.
Spree has been around the professional Overwatch scene for a long time. He played with notable organizations like Luminosity Gaming and FaZe Clan before signing with the Houston Outlaws for the 2018 inaugural season of the Overwatch League. Fast forward to 2020 and Spree has seen very little playtime this year due to the Outlaws signing star off tank Tae-hong "MekO" Kim from the New York Excelsior in the of🦂fseason.
In a TwitLonger, Spree talked about his time with the Houston Outlaws and reflected on being a 🍨👍professional player in the Overwatch League. While it's hard to sit on the bench, Spree took that time to reflect on what he wanted and his own mental health which is always good. He ended the TwitLonger by saying he is a free agent but doesn't necessarily know what the future holds.
The Houston Outlaws have had an up and down season in 2020 but seemed to have settled on a sta💟rting lineup. While they make their final push towards the end of the season and into the playoffs, Spree will be a free agent. It's unclear how much interest he will garner since he has been sitting out for so long, but this seems like the best interest for both parties involved. Of course, it will be nice to see Spree shine on stage once again if he gets the chance.
