Raidou Kuzunoha's debut is itself a tad confusing. He is in Shin Megami Tensei 3, though not the original version. Instead, his first appearance is indeed in his own game, Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army. This game is a prequel to the main Devil Summoner series, beari💖ng his name to distinguish them as an even dee🥀per subseries. A subseries within a subseries of a larger series.

Despite being such a popular character, Raidou only has two of his own games, both of th✱em released in a relatively short period of one another. Neither game has been ported to modern consoles either, being released on PS3 digitally but nothing further. Being prequels to the main Devil Summoner games, they are ironically stuck in the past.

Does Raidou Appear Outside Of His Own Game?

Raidou is such a popular character, you must have seen him somewhere else too, right? And indeed you may have because Raidou Kuzunoha has appeared in plentiful other places that aren't his own games. In fact, he has appeared more times outside of his own 🃏games than within them.

In the West, the only version of Shin Megami Tensei 3 that was released featured Dante from Devil May Cry 2. Specifically his Devil May Cry 2 design. This was actually the second release in Japan. However, a third version was also released in Japan to coincide with the release of Raidou's second dedi⭕cated game, the Chronicle edition. This replaced Dante with Raidou and even added a new ending sequence featuring him🎃.

He was also added (al🐠ongside his alternate reality version) in the 3DS release of Soul Hackers, where they both appeared as the Ultimate Bosses of the game. Otherwise, he has appeared in a novel and manga, both expanding upon the events of his own games. That gives a total of four appearances outside of his own ga💟mes.

He also mak♋es a brief appearance 𝐆in the Persona 5 manga, though this is just the author drawing them because they, personally, are a fan of Raidou Kuzunoha.

How Many Appearances Does Raidou Have In Total?

Despite his popularity as a character, Raidou hasn't actually had a great many appearances. More than the games he has, but still not a massive amount. In total, Raidou has appeared in four games with two appearances in his dedicated manga an﷽d novel. He's also had an off-hand mention in the English version of Persona 5 and a throwaway appearance in the Persona 5 manga,🉐 if you want to count those.

At most, that is six proper appearances, and eight if you count those smaller easter egg-esque ones. So y🍃eah, not many! With how popular he is though, here's hoping his games get the chance to see the light of day some day soon.
