isn't always about heroes triumphing over the forces of evil. There are times when the players will want to take a walk on the dark side and play the villains for a change. Not everyone has an idea for a fleshed-out evil character, so it might be wise to base one off a popular villain, such as Kefka from Final Fantasy VI.

Kefka Palazzo starts out as a minor recurring villain in Final Fantasy VI, as he portrays himself as a sadistic stooge for Emperor Gestahl. Kefka is later revealed to be far more ambitiou♛s and cunning than he originally seemed, as he disposes of the Emperor at the halfway point of the game and absorbs the power of the Warring Triad in order to become the god of magic. After bringing the world to the edge of extinction, Kefka is finally defeated and slain in his divine form.

Kefka's Ability Scores, Class, And Background

When it comes to defining Kefka as a Dungeons & Dragons character, we have combined elements from his appearance in Final Fantasy VI and the Dissisida series of fighting games, as the latter better defines his combat abilities. The version of Kefka we have created uses material from the Player's Handbook. Kefka is a non-variant human sorcerer, who takes on the Wild Magic origin. Using the basic stat spread listed on page 13 of the Player's Handbook and taking his race into account, Kefka's s🏅tarting stats would be STR 13, DEX 15, CON 14, INT 11, WIS 9, and CHA 16.

We know little about Kefka's background in Final Fantasy VI, outside of a fleeting mention of him being part of one of the earliest attempts at creating a Magitek Knight, which is responsible for his unhinged nature. Kefka is in his mid-thirties at the start of Final Fantasy VI and he holds a high rank in the Ge♔stahlian army, so his backgro🐠und would be Soldier. His starting skills would be Athletics, Arcana, Deception, and Intimidation. If the variant Feat rules are used, then he would benefit from Alert, Mage Slayer, Elemental Adept (either cold, fire, or lightning), Spell Sniper, or War Caster.

In terms of alignment, Kefka is clearly Chaotic Evil. He revels in bloodshed and murder, due to having zero regard for life outside of his own. As soon as he acquires divine powers, he uses them to te💃rrorize the population of an entire world, seemingly for his own amusement. This isn't to say that Kefka acts completely without preparation or thought, as he managed to get in the good graces of Emperor Gestahl and work his way up the ranks of a military organization, but this is all in the name of making it easier for him to act out his base desires. Kefka can be cunning and will know when it's the correct time to strike, but when removed from his leash, he will become an absolute monster.

Kefka's Spells

Kefka demonstrates a number of different magical abilities in Final Fantasy VI and the Dissidia series. He is skilled with fire, ice, and lightning magic, as well as inflicting status effects upon his enemies. Kefka can suppress the powers of summoned creatures, create illusions, control the minds of his foes, and is often seen flying with the power of magic. As such, Kefka's spell list would benefit from chill touch, fire bolt, poison spray, ray of frost, shocking grasp, burning hands, color spray, detect magic, expeditious retreat, ray of sickness, silent image, thunderwave, blindness/deafness, crown of madness, levitate, mirror image, scorching ray, suggestion, dispel magic, fear, fireball, fly, hypnotic pattern, lightning bolt, sleet storm, slow, banishment, blight, confusion, ice storm, wall of fire, cone of cold, dominate person, telekinesis, teleportation circle, chain lightning, circle of death, disintegrate, mass suggestion, delayed blast fireball, finger of death, fire storm, prismatic spray, dominate monster, incendiary cloud, power word stun, meteor sworm, time stop, and wish. He will have access to four different Metamagic abili♐ties over the course of his run and he would benefit from Empowered Spell, Twinned Spell, Heightened Spel𝔍l, and Quickened Spell.

It's vitally important that the DM and the players know what they're getting themselves in for when using a character like Kefka in a D&D game. An omnicidal maniac who turns on his allies on his quest for power likely won't have friends for long, both in the game and in the real world. There are some evil builds that can work alongside good and neutral allies (such as 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Melisandre from Game of Thrones), as they are able to put aside their selfish desires in pursuit of a higher goal. In Kefka's case, the character would only work in a group of similarly evil characters and each would have to sleep with both eyes open and have their backs to the wall, which might not lead to fun experiences for everyone involved. Players need to think long and hard before attempting a D&D gamℱe with evil party members, as it's a concept that's best used for one-offs or short campaigns in controlled environments (like a prison brea𒆙k), rather than for an extended period of time.
