It could have grown massive from feasting upon so many different adventurers over the years, and the magic items it has consumed have given it access to different arcane abilities. As one of the hardest bosses in Final Fantasy VII Remake, it's only fitting that the D&D v🐟ersion of the Hell House is equally fierce, and many players might not survive the encounter with the monstrous dwellinꦕg.
Setting The Scene
The Hell House can fit into many different adventures, as there are lots of occasions where the players will be stuck out in the wilderness for days at a time. It'♏s not unheard of♔ for travelers to build rest stops out in the wild, as these can help people who need to travel during the winter months and can find themselves stuck in a snow storm. As such, the players might not think too much about finding an empty house out in the wild. Once the first player reaches for the door and finds that they are unable to remove their hand, then the trap is sprung and the Hell House awakens.
The Hell House is a tough encounter and the players should be fully rested before taking one on, especially as✅ it will likely gain a surprise round against the party. If untrustworthy players decide to vet the house from a distance first, then 𓄧they might be able to fight the creature on an even footing.

The Hell House will cast animate objects as soon as possible, causing several chairs and small tables to vomit forth fཧrom its windows. These will spread out and attack all nearby party members without discretion, and the Hell House is unlikely to waste its Bonus Action to direct them (as it needs this to change barrier). The nature of the Barrier Shift abilꦛity should be easy for the players to work out, and the DM should make an effort to establish how the windows keep changing color and how the Hell House dramatically responds to attacks that bypass its weaknesses. If the players are being dense, then let them make an Arcana, Insight, or Perception roll each turn to try and work it out.
In combat, the Hell House will always use a burst of Elemental Magic over a Bite (assuming it has recharged) in order to strike enemies that are far away. The creature can fly, but it won't back away from players in order to blast them with spells. The flight will be used to overcome any barriers that the players throw up, as well as reaching any opponents that try to evade combat with flight spells of their own. Once God Hand Mode is activated, the DM shou🐬ld establish that the creature is moving in a reckless fashion and the magical lights on its windows are flickering, in order to highlight how it will🥂 be exhausted during its next turn.
The Hell House can fit comfortably into many different campaigns and the mechanical nature of the creature from the games can easily be substituted for a biological one, as it's meant to be a💝 creature that has consumed magic in order to gain strength and has mutated accordingly. The Hell Ho♛use will be a potent foe and it might be best used at the start of a game, in order to wake the players up and let them know that even an inviting shack in the wilderness can be incredibly dangerous to the unwary adventurer.
