168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Tears of the Kingdom has everyone talking about a Switch 2. The idea of the console has been on the horizon for a while now, and I’ve always been apprehensive. I think gaming culture encourages us to always want the new thing, and blinds us to the fact that getting a new console is not as simple as one plopping in our hands - we have to buy it, and they’re very expensive. Why would I want to pay a lot of money for something I already have that works? But the fact is, we do get new consoles routinely, and the Nintendo Switch 2 will be here soon. So, here’s how you get me to buy one, from someone who doesn🏅’t really want to buy one.

Actually Be A Switch 2

We can make an educated guess that a new Nintendo console is on the horizon, but we don’t know what it is. It could be a completely new console. I don’t care much what they call it, but unless it’s recognisably a Switch, I’ll consider𝐆 it a backwards step. By being🌊 a Switch 2, what I mean is the ability to play handheld and docked, a touchscreen, let me transfer all my progress over, and have my cart﷽ridges work. That last one is especially important because…

The Switch is not my main console, but I have a lot of games on there, including many I like to go back to. Jackbox and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Super Mario Party still get decent playtime with friends. I dabble with Nintendo Switch Sports. I’ve returned to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Pokemon Shield and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Let’s Go for a playthrough, and no doubt Scarlet will pull me in at some point too. An﷽𝓰d I really should check on my Animal Crossing island.

The point is I have a lot of Switch games. People are going to be playing Tears of the Kingdom for literally years. There has been talk that the cartridge system the Switch is what holds it back, and that a Switch 2 would be better served moving on, but that’s asking people n🐽ot just to buy a new expensive console, but to fill out their catalogue again, after the Switch offered a reset from the Wii U and DS combined. It would be an insulting ask.

Joy-Con Drift

This has been a Switch problem from day one, and it still persists on som💙e OLEDs. It’s unacceptable and it’s strange that the only option is to be okay with it. Various legal cases have been launched over the years about this issue, but few explanations for why it keeps happening and why Nintendo can’t stop it have emerged. Hopefully the Switch 2 will finally eradicate Joy-Con drift.

Keep The Switch’s Charm

When a lot of people talk about the 🐈Switch 2, they mention the difference between the Switch and the PS5. As someone who has both, the difference is definitely noticeable. Aside from Jackbox, which benefits from the Switch&r🍬squo;s portability, there’s not a single cross-platform game I would even consider having on the Switch. But I don’t think this is a unique case.

Many people have the Switch as their second console, with the big triple-As played on PS, Xbox, or PC, and the Switch specifically for Nintendo games like Mario, Pokemon, and Zelda. While Pokemon especially 💞is rough around the edges, part of the Switch’s appeal is that necessity has been the mother of invention. The games have cartoonish and charming art styles that offer a great contrast to the gritty and realistic ambitions of the PlaySt🐟ation. However powerful it gets, that has to stay.

More Storage

Right now, I think the storage is just about right. The last two big games I installed meant deleting the oldest ones on there, butﷺ for how much I use the Switch, it’s fine. However, presumably games will get bigger as the console allows them to become more powerful, so we’ll need more space to put them💜. It’s a no brainer but I’m sick of shuffling on every console as it is, so hopefully the storage isn’t just Bigger, but is Big Enough.

Better Nintendo Switch Online Library

We’re now past the ‘it needs this or what’s the point’ into ‘this would be neat’. Nintendo is notoriously protective of its games, even old games it isn’t selling at all, and it seems ridiculous that some vital titles in Nintendo’s history are completely unavailable on the Switch, even though we have the NSO Library designed to add extra value to the online subscription with a collection of hits from ol🧸der consoles. It highlights a major problem with gaming&rsq✃uo;s lack of respect for its history - every time we get a new console, old games die a little bit more.

Be Affordable

Mario and Luigi from the Super Mario Bros Movie in front of a pile of money

This one is relative, as affordable means different things to different people, and the Switch 2’s value will be relative to how ma♒ny of the above features it has. However, the closest electronics store to me sells a new OLED for £309, an Xbox Series X for £449, and a PS5 for £479. It’s quite the jump, and with the Switch’s appeal as a family friendly console giving it consistent popularity, I’d want it to stay in a price bracket below the PS5.

All things considered, I think it’s odd that a console that still sells in huge numbers and which just launched one of the highest-rated games of all time is something so many of us feel needs a whole new model to be tolerable. At the same time, I buy the argu♔ment that Tears of the Kingdom feels the pinch 🦋of the Switch, and people are enamoured by a hypothetical version of TOTK that runs without a hitch. After all, if this is what happens when a ga✤me pushes the Switch to the limit, what could the Zelda team do without limits? Someday we’ll find out - hopefully with Nintendo hitting all the boxes above.
